Learning to draw - Olav's Sketchbook

Hello!

My name is Olav Telneset, i'm from Norway, I am 17 years old, male, studying at Ringve Media in Trondheim (media and communication class.) I have been drawing for 1 and 1/2 year now i think.

I have'nt always been interested in art, sure, I have painted in class and stuff like that, but it wasnt until I stumbled across the world of digital art fell in love with it. Watching all those digital paintings on deviantart and other sites really got me interested. So i invested in a tablet and started drawing. But with no skills at drawing it didnt go as well. I started out with drawing anime and stuff like that, (still do sometimes o_o) Then i went to realistic drawings, thanks to Adonihs on DeviantArt.

For now i do most of my drawings on paper, but I will hopefully get better at digital painting after some time


I've been thinking about making a sketchbook here for a while, but never really got the guts to do it. Today a friend of mine told me I really should make a Sketchbook just for the sake of getting better so here it goes!

Sorry for the bad quality.. I had to take photo's becouse printing A3's and getting it together is a hell of a job. And i'm also sorry for the messy and unsorted pages, that said. Most of these drawings are studies, some of them are from imagination though. Some of these sketches are about 2 - 3 weeks old.

Criticism are welcome! I would love to get others oppinions and advices

So heres what i've drawn these last days. I've tried out those 30 sec pose tools on the internet. But i cant really find a good enough way to approach to get good looking figures... Think i'll just have to work a bit more on that

Good to see that you're working hard (unlike me e_e) Love that caricature Maybe if you drew the 30 sec poses a little smaller, it would give you more room for getting the figure right? Keep at it bro!

@Fiskepudding: Thanks man, i suppose i could draw those poses a little smaller yes Sadly I wont be able to work that hard this week. I got tendonitis in my arm so I guess i'll just have to relax this week This sux.

Hey man, nice to see you started a sketchbook. You're putting in a lot of work which is all you really need to do, and be as consistent as you can. They're looking good.
Sorry to hear about your hand, that's really tough, I remember some other people on this site who have gotten that.
I've actually have had some weird uncomfortable feelings in mine the past few days.... it's making me nervous. Just got to try and take care of it I guess. Good luck.
