I'll post some quick updates. Skyrim is really distracting me lately...

Tried my hand at character painting again. Quite fun, will do this soon again!

Last are some quick concept paintings for a school project.

OmertA - Thank you. I'll keep going, although motivation has been a big obstacle many times before. Thanks for your support.

Here's a quick idea behind this weeks EoW. I was thinking of how a summoning would look like. ( If you could summon a Ringwraith, that is)

Not sure about it yet. Might have to make some more simple thumbs first.

I made a new start with the EoW 'Nazgul being born something something'. It's a crazy topic, but I always liked the Ringwraiths. It's something I'd wear to a Halloween party!

Here's the new piece I'm working on. I could imagine necormancy using the Dead Marshes ( is that the correct name? ) as a source to re-awake the dead that lie there. Ready to serve the Dark Lord!

I might trim down the tree a little and go easy on the death/minas morgul color palette. What do you think?

furthermore, I posted some current schoolproject thingies. Nothing special. Enjoy!

hey man, i think you should do some life drawing!
get a strong light on stuff.
your pieces look like all have a very difused light, like on a cloudy day.
stuff looks better when theres lots of contrast. and strong lighting
    just my 2 cents.

    keep drawing man!

GEB Thanks man. Glad you visited my sb again!
Aragah You're right about all of that. I really should do some life studies; I just never take the time to properly sit down and study anymore. Meh.

Here's an updated version of my EoW entry + some quick thumbs before sleep.
It's not much, but I'll get to paint some more within the next two weeks. Christmas holidays coming up!

Thanks for always dropping by man

Looking good! Good work on the latest eow, might want to try to change the values on the character a bit - the values on his back might be a bit too dark. Could also try adding some lighter values behind the mountains and see how it turns out.

    Keep up the good work!

Pew pew update since a while

Here's some stuff from my last schoolproject. It's mostly just random objects for the game itself. The gemstones especially were fun to create after carefully stuyding examples.

Other sketches that I haven't touched further yet. My attempts to complete a EoW these days really suck! What's going on in my head?

Glad to see you posting man!

Good job achieving the feeling on depth on the latest piece. You could try adding some valuevariation in the background, maybe push some mountains a bit further away or add some little lighter areas in the horizon behind the mountains.

Kvenh - Thanks for the advice! I haven't had time to work on that piece again. I might leave it for now.

Started my internship yesterday! 6 months working on a gameproject and doing what I do best: designing environments!

Here's a preview of another project I'm working on ( to be revealed as soon as the client has approved)

and some quick sketches before going to bed.

Intership keeping me busy. But here's two random sketches. Sparth's 'Structura 2' came into the mail today and I got inspired. These were made by mouse only which was really fun to do again.

great sketchbook so far. One crit for you from me would be to reduce the saturation of some of your colours in your paints. There is a general tendency to exaggerate tones and saturation when you are painting but this can detract from the focal point of the painting.

Its not a rule-set in stone (like any other art rule) but its worth thinking about. If you do something on PS try playing around with saturation to see its effect on your work once completed.

    Hope that helps!

This stuff is great man, just out of curiosity, where do you study? looks like all the HW is digital work.

    htkpeh Thanks mate !

ThomasM Thanks for checking out my sketchbook and your advice. I'll work on it!

AlexTooth Heehee they were mindless doodles on my couch. I'm glad you like them.

rem92 Thanks. I follow a 4 year study GameDesign as a intermediate vocational education in the Netherlands. I hope to study at a university when I finish my current education.

My internship is moving along for 1,5 month now and It's been a blast so far!
I haven't been painting much in my spare time due to long hours and traveling, but I have picked up on traditional drawing while sitting on the train to work. The sketches are horrible, so I'm not got going to post any of that shit yet. But it's fun to draw with a pencil again.

Right. It's been long overdue but here's a selection of some concept work from my assigne intern project.

    And two personal works
