Bering's Sketchbook - Explosive brain stuff

Hello everybody - This is my sketchbook.

I'd like to share some background info about me.

I was born in 1988 - so lucky I still have my entire life infront of me to become even better.

I started drawing "for real" in 2009 - before then, it has mainly been doodling in school and high school. But at that point I quit university and realized programming isn't rly what I wanted to do. Yes, I want to make video games, but the artwork. It all became too technical for me, and I figured out, I'm decalculate as well, so no wonder I had a hard time during math.

At the moment, my biggest wish is to start studying at an academy in order to get a degree so I can work on video games. I really REALLY want to start taking my first steps to become a professional through study and hard work - and I don't care how much hard work, money or sacrifices I have to make in order to become a concept artist on video games. It is the point of my life. Nothing else.

At the moment, I'm working on a portfolio application for the academy here, and some of this stuff will be in it.

Please come with all your critics - that is the reason I'm here. I've been looking around this forum for some time now, and hopefully now I can recieve some feedback as well. :)

Thanks everybody. I really appreciate your feedback, comments and good words.

At the moment, I'm still working on my portfolio for the education here. I'm really frustraited at the moment - since it's really hard to know if it is good enough :/ then it is cool to come back to visit and update my skethbook, and read these comments.

If anyone has any tips on how to calm yourself down before a deadline - please let me know. I've started to have sleepless nights. I simply can't fall asleep. When I'm first laying there in bed, my thoughts just return to the portfolio. All the time - and there is one month untill the deadline.. And then afterwards there's more waiting.

If this keeps up, it's definetly not good for my health xP So all tips are appreicated.

I'll just update the drawings! =))

I really love what you have posted so far; especially the first pic with the aircraft.

Latest, the cockpit of the plane posted above.

In line- and then colored with markers. It's the first time I make something else than an actual plane, with this kind of technique (if you can call it a technique, I don't really know the actual word)

It is actually finished I guess

It is going to represent my skills in Perspective drawing in my portfolio, which I delivered a week ago. Hopefully I will get a possitive result back.

However, I might want to color and render the Watermill house though, because more people seem to like it.

Good news everyone! I was accepted into the Art school!

I will recieve my official letter of approval on monday I believe But I already know the answer, because the school send an unofficial letter a while back!

I am so thrilled and so excited untill I start. I will start in less than a month, and I got everything ready and settled for the lift-off.

It is really a dream come true - and I have worked insanely hard in the last three years, in order to pay for masterclasses and to save up for the education itself. I might take up a loan in the future - but at the moment, I don't care if I have to pay a loan for the next many years, if just I end up doing what I want to do!

In the past month or two, I haven't been drawing much. In fact, extremely little compared to what I used to do. I have mostly been playing video games, which is my huge passion. I felt like I had to catch-up on many titles of games, I've wanted to play for years.

It is great, to relax, play video games and be inspired by some of the amazing artists who worked on those video games I play.

This update on my Sketchbook will also mean, that in the future, I will try my best to keep it updated. Because I need all the help I can get, in order to take my first steps in video game development!

    See you all out-there!
