Applying for an Internship with Disney(need some help)

As the title explained, I'm applying for an art internship with Disney.

I looked over the application process and there's one problem. There isn't really any mention of an applicant's portfolio. What's with that? It IS an art internship after all.

However, there is a requirement for a resume. And honestly, I don't think my credentials are very flashy or extensive. I haven't really done too many things that are resume worthy with art. I mean, I'm in college, got bumped up to senior classes, going to travel to Italy on a scholarship soon..umm...I've won an online contest, entered a few different ones...

Is there any way I could somehow fit my portfolio into my resume? Maybe link it for them? Do you think it will be taken into consideration?

Any help would be very appreciated. I'd like to grab this internship but it doesn't appear that my portfolio can be a factor.

Should this be moved to the lounge?

If I was doing it I'd probably throw some samples in with the resume whether they asked for them or not. And I'd definitely include a link to my work. You want to grab their attention and focus it on yourself (in a good way hopefully) and stand out from the other applicants.

And then God said, "Let us make man in our likeness and our image. Let us make him ridiculously hard to draw so that poor artists everywhere will have to spend 10,000+ hours failing repeatedly before they can begin to capture the form and likeness onto a two-dimensional surface." And there was man. And it was good. And artists everywhere lost their minds.

    Thanks for your opinion Manlybrian!
    I'm really nervous about this.
And as far as resumes go, in general I really feel uncomfortable with them.
I truly do hate and feel incredibly uncomfortable with listing things to show how cool I am.
I've always preferred to let my work speak for itself.
So I think I'll definitely give them a link to my work.

Don't have anything really to suggest, just found it funny that I remember you from the Diablofans contest . I think that was like, my first drawing ever when I entered in it last year. It looked horrible.

I looked into applying in the theme parks side of Disney imagineering for an internship last year. I didn't in the end because firstly other companies got back to me, and I was a bit "whats the point in even trying".

But, since then, I've met someone who managed to get an internship with them and is now running a creative team at a park.

So, I'm basically just posting to go "it's possible".

Again, I know it's a different area to where you're going, but the companies that did get back to me wer every impressed with how well I knew them and their competitors. At first I didn't know if it was a good idea to show I had this knowledge, but the more it came out the more interested they seemed at the interview.

    Hope that's... vaughly useful?

Thanks a lot Haj, but...what exactly do you mean by knowledge about them and their competitors?

I was in sifting through Disney intern applications when I worked there a few years ago.
You should definetly put your website address in there. No one gets through the first round of filtering without it unless you have a really strong resume. Then they might contact you and ask you to send them some examples.
You can't go wrong showing your website, it's a no brainer. :] Good luck!

Well I guess I mean just be aware of what other animation companies are doing, current trends in the business, etc.

It's not really my area of interest at all so It's hard for me to think of examples or know if it's as relevent.
