hi everybody
i just got accepted to tad and i just need a little help with the material im supose to get for figure1 and scketch 1,so could someone possibly write me back a list please it would really help and be appreciated thank you

For Figure1,
:Nupastels and midtone paper. You will very specifically need nupastels. People used other pastels but you will miss much of the purpose of the assignments. You will need nupastels that are lighter than the paper and nupastels that are darker than the paper. You will be sent a materials list. I recommend Naple's Yellow for the Lighter color.

In Sketchbook
You will need a sketchbook and some pencils. You can also use pens, but they prefer something that can get multiple values. They suggest Moleskine sketchbooks about a 5x8 size.

Good luck. You will get a supply list either before school or on the first day of class.

You will need other stuff for sketchbook but they will tell you in class.

How big does the midtone paper have to be? is it a4 size? also here in the UK we cannot get nupastels, so what else do you recommend?.

I recommend ordering nupastels. I know it sounds a bit harsh, but you will really appreciate being able to use exactly what the teacher asks for. You will be working with them for the entire the semester so it will be useful to order a batch and just pay the shipping charge. I would be sure you have the correct colors before you order them in bulk though. Naples Yellow is a must and they suggest a light warm gray, but I never used the gray.

You need to work at a 18x24 inch-ish size. 1 inch=2.54cm.

You can check out my blogand see the midtone paper I used and the colors I used. Go down about 3 or 4 posts to see the drawings. In my opinion and most people agree with me, the best paper is Neenah Crest paper in tarragon, slate, and I havn't tried pewter but it looks like it might work. I would get the 80lb text variety and you can order it from this website http://www.neenahpaper.com/GlobalSearchPage?brandtype=CLASSIC%20CREST#. You would have to order it at 25x38 and cut it down to 25x19 to use it correctly. Again, expensive but the best paper out there. You can also use newsprint for the first few weeks.

Hey there Thyname, Need a uk site, the shipping charges from the us alone would kill me. No where in the uk do they sell Nupastels, even if they shipped from the us, the shipping would be chanrges would be crazy.
