really great concept´s, thank god you where on that project!![]()
cheers!
nice!
got any more to share? any design breakdowns?
Thanks for sharing. It's always really cool and appreciated, when people in the business share some of their work to everybody and to newbies like me, who constantly dream about making concept art for video games. But I'll get there in a few years - and it's going to be awesome!
More please!
First,
eightsix: I don't have much more in the way of visual breakdowns on these guys in particular. I'm going to post a bunch more work and you'll see how some of the ideas evolved.
With the ODST, I had already done work redesigning the Halo Marine for Halo 3, so taking the Marine at one end of the spectrum and the Chief at the other I developed the ODST, The central column shape that goes through the chest and abdomen, along with the helmet and general shoulder pad shape are inspired by the original ODST design in Halo 2.
I want to post a lot more work. Any advice on how I should do that... Should I edit this post, Post more work in reply or start a new thread and just do a huge image dump?
thanks guys,
-Isaac
Thankyou so much for sharing your work with us. The first ODST pic, is one of my favourite pieces of halo art. So nice to see a high res image of it![]()
-I would post more art as replies, in this thread, just my opinion.
Looking forward to seeing more!
Love all the art in halo, and have the Halo 3 artbook sitting here next to me
Looking forward to seeing more.
Here's some work for the marine and some other promotional work
they're all in their native resolution. If people complain, I'll try and size them down.

Thanks for sharing nice pics for the concept of halo art....
what else i can say.
People like you, inspires me to work in this business, and I just can't wait (I'm seriously jumping up at down 24/7 at the moment) untill I start studying and eventually end up in the game industry. It's quite hardcore to get accepted into the art schools, but I'm very confident that I'll make it this time. Hell I want to do same thing as you (maybe not Halo specificly, but you get my point) and I don't care how long time, hard work or sacrifices I have to make in order to get there! This is my life!
Bering: You have a great sketchbook. I'm sure you have a future in concept art, especially with an attitude like yours.
Here's some more work
Quick environment work. When I was working on Halo 3, the team was already half way through development. I was the only concept artist working there for a while so I was spread really thin. I wasn't spending more than 2-4 hours on a single image for most of a year.

Jeebus man, You rock! Teach me your ways.
I really appreciate your attention to textural changes, and the hearty mix of spontaneity, and deliberation in your brushwork.
Show us more!
Thanks Raw,
These are a lot different than my magazine cover and book cover work. These are all done as fast as possible to communicate as much and only as much as was needed by the Level artists. There were a lot of mouths to feed...plus I was getting used to doing environment paintings...something I was barely comfortable with at the time. 2005-2006

Really digging those environments, awesome work and great inspiration.

Everything is awesome! I´m a fan!
Insanely cool!!
My sketchbook Comments & Crits always welcome!
I hate people like you, who help make awesome games that tempt me into spending my time on them! Nice work!

*falls to floor in awe* love them... love all of them... brilliant...
wow man, i have the art book, so ive seen most of these beauties before, but just WOW. amazing design work, great atmospheric images, and honestly, for being rushed these are still very very nice! although i absolutely love all of the magazine covers, or promo style pieces, i have to say that those ODST suit designs up at the top are my favorite, i just love that style of concept art. design sheets and such, they really look awesome.
would you have any advice to a college student majoring in Video Game Design, as far as the best way to approach a company looking for work. (im finishing my degree first, but just for future reference, id highly appreciate any advice from a seasoned pro)
if you have a free second, id love it if you could send me even a quick response in a pm.
