    posemaniacs for DAYS yes good

your use of lines has definitely improved over time, and that's fantastic. i would consider doing more value studies with simple and medium-complex shapes.

your sense of perspective and space show in your mechanical drawings. i can't wait to see where those go in the future! you seem to have a knack for integrating mechanics and cybernetics into human poses and characters. keep that up! i think that's your best strength as of now

also: MORE LINES. more lines in your sketches, especially your quick poses. fast, fluid, energetic. save the precise outlines for longer studies.
take a peek at my SKETCHBOOK?

I love the flow of your lines and your technical stuff looks really amazing. I also love the aesthetics of your poses, really nice stuff.
However, your faces need some more work.

    Nice update, bro!

I see your faces are starting to come along nicely. I would check, that the eyes are always in the middle of the head. I sometimes just print out the photo of a face and sketch a bit around on it, to let the measurements sink in. Also study some skulls

    Keep grinding!

Update, 1x 30sec class and observational stuff, values values.. so weak with ya!..

Dimi: Do not be afraid to put down the lines, use your very light lines as guidelines, that's how i think about them. Looking at refrence i start with overall gesture shape with very light line to have something on paper, from there i use stronger lines to shape it in more complex object and when you'r sure that everything it's one right place, use the strongest lines, mainly on side where the light doesnt hit. Fix in your head to always start with light touch, always loosely, play with it, have fun and after while, rather than having fear you gonna start to use it as a tool.

    Stronger lines grabs viewer attention.

Yemi775: Not much, the box helps alot, if you know which way to draw your lines to VP thanks to sides of the box, it makes alot easier to draw in perspective if it's organic, im lost..

ecki: Side view ain't so hard 3/4 it's something i need to work at with also the eyes, hate them ~.~ I use photoshop, ctrl+r draging guides H&V.

Jaik: Heeey man! until the end!

lionhearGFX: Hope at the end of this year i will be able to draw kick-ass stuff, that's the reward im wishing for :-D

    Eternal-Apprentice: Hmmm, interesting! i'll give a try!

Guys, thank you all for your time, you give me possitive energy and that means alot!

    Cheers!

I think Michael Mattesi - Force: Life Drawing For Animators might be a good read for you, if you have not gone through it. I think it might aid you since you already are doing a lot of practice with gestures.

wow you're certainly progressing. since you asked me I would say do all sorts of gesture, figure and SIMPLE anatomy studies (no inner-layer muscles, sceletal structure just loosely the gist of it, not the shape of each bone.. that's overkill now) most of all figure studies. get loomis' figure drawing for all it's worth (pdf). and whatever studies you do on the side, the center and most of your time in my strong opinion if you aim to draw from mind is drawing from mind. drawing characters. the more fun the better. you can never exceed your level of where you're at with your skill level by side-by-side copying anatomy books or doing lots of fluent pose drawings (pose is actually rather complicated as it has to do with gravity and the locomotion of the human body, but finding your way to fluidity in pose is cool for sure. fluidity is a good ingredient, but does not always apply).

draw from mind. draw your characters. draw them daily. draw your faces. look at ref whilst your doing it on and off but if you want to get good at drawing from mind you need to draw from mind, even though a life/photo study may look better (which you've proven you can make them look good).

your greatest guidance in development and when drawing a piece is that something looks wrong. that's what everyone uses and never stops using, so never do studies or doodles that are too advanced-stuff-copywork or loose that you can't strongly see that somethings wrong with that face etc.
    that is your best mentor.

you can never get away from where you're at. where you're at is what you can pull off with a blank paper and a pencil and eraser (very helpful tool) and no ref. and it takes stretching it without ref until you really need to figure something out... something shedding light on where you're at; not something miles ahead. and then use ref without fail. you don't seem to have a "ref is cheating"-complex so good on you there. because it's not. learning is contingent on ref.

actually as much as a trap as it can be I suggest you take the cartoony style closest to your own style atm and run with that for a long time. it will keep things simple. one challenge at a time. be it manga or other comics style without chibi-bodies, that feels like close to your thing.
not saying you should start drawing gawdy big eyes and triangular mouths but regular good manga style for instance has figure, proportions and a little bit of anatomy here and there and you need to go for a format that you can tackle and wrap your head around semi-fully.

fully realistic figure style is just way too complicated. it has to do with every muscle on the entire body and you haven't gotten on solid terms with a simplified figure yet. so take it where you're at and have fun. never do stuff or think you aught to do stuff that saps your motivation! keep it fun! and don't look too much at us old geezers and think that we learned "it all" by studying full realism. most concept-artists who mature and reach a level of realism I dare say had a vital part of their development in the beginning when they drew manga or some other kind of comic they liked... keep it simple and worry about forshortening, body proportions. facial proportions etc. and don't worry too much about drawing the same face twice. I'm still not good at that.

let the flow of doodling guide you for a long time ahead.
and since you seem diligent. look at some figure drawing ref and a lil' anatomy (superficial anatomy, not deep shit) on the side, and keep a collation of figure ref handy. like in Figure Drawing for all It's Worth or even something like the manga Bakuman for reffing/studies which has fantastic close to realistic style when it comes to studying (it may look just manga, but it's fucking masterful ) it's also a great read (and I'm floored by their diligence in that drama just so you know).

keep it up, the road is long. what makes it good is that if you're having fun, you want it to be.

    best of luck!
    love nim.

Nice update! Nice to see how much effort you put into understanding the proportions and turning these skulls.

Keep at it, do some faces from ref and check the proportions there. You can also try to paint the skull into a reference photo, this is fun and very helpful!

great amounts of effort, don't be shy try doing one of the community challenges? also i went to my first life drawing session, if i could recommend any one thing you have
to try it, i was a bit shakee in the beginning when the model stripped nude but i grasped things better in real life i guess, just a suggestion. . . .

Thanks everyone, unfortunately right now i've got some personal problems, not much time for drawing and if there's some, it's not with joy. Even if i try, more important tasks block my mind to concentrate, which leads to frustration and anger and not allowing me to draw like i would do.. Fucking hate when things doesn't go your way..

Stay strong, it isn't necessary to draw when you want to learn something, you can observe your surroundings or browse net to inspire you. Maybe you got good idea which you would like to draw later. Or just have break, it will help you too. I hope things will get better.
