I started using Alchemy a couple weeks ago. I think I like it better than Photoshop for sketching. It's in reverse chronological order starting with today stretching back to around new years.

Thanks you two.
I got lazy and went back to flat stuff. I tried to break up the symmetry but I'm tired.

The torsos are look good. Don't forget the all important hands and feet.
haha loved the yoda quote.
Beautiful character art with some great use of light and shadow! I'd like to see some more human character studies too.

My house got broken into last Wednesday so I have been kind of distracted. Still Still making attempts to stop doing front views over and over though it's so tempting to keep doing them. I was doing figures but for some reason when I reload the session in Alchemy my changes disappear every time I change from foreground to background color. I have yet to go over anything in photoshop or finish up anything.
The Two color pieces are older than the rest but I really like the color and didn't want to get rid of them. I may fix their problems and finish them up one day.

this habit of taking one half of the image and duplicating it, instead of just drawing the whole figure doesnt look good. try measuring the angle on your subject and do it the hard way, both sides independently. Normally one masters angle and measurement before tackling value (shading). try making angle drawings - measure the angles right first and don't even bother with contour until you get those angles and negative space measurements correct. Drawing is the foundation of painting.

Izi bows before the superior intellect of Velocity and he has a pretty neat sketchbook
I'm not duplicating it myself, it's the program. But I do agree that relying on symmetry is bad. I have been trying to move away from doing it by either doing things in perspective or something like my figures page above.

I enjoy using this program over photoshop because it's like graffiti. There is no undo or erasing. I find shading in Alchemy to be more intuitive than other programs. Coloring is an issue but I am also working on a way to make it work.
More work to come, thanks for the feedback. I started some hands tonight and will continue to sort out the problems.

Oh very cool, makes me want to give Alchemy another look.
I think this stuff is really neat looking, but It also makes me want to see what else you do art wise.![]()

True progress means matching the world to the vision in our heads.
But we always change the vision instead.
Ah, I love Alchemy, such a good program for just doodling in. Have you seen the video of Android using it? Just awesome.
Keep up the good work man, I agree with HAJiME though that other media and styles would be great.![]()

Nice work. That skull has some real depth to it.

This one in particular is looking very promising.![]()
s.Ketch,
How long have you been at this? Do you work directly in Alchemy (This is the first I've seen of it) or do you sketch, scan and re-work?

This should allow for the largest I have of these images at the moment without re-scanning or even re-photographing them. I'll keep adding more.
