So my name's Nik. I've been drawing along time but haven't really made any progress. But this year will be different. I'm hoping to improve and learn a lot of new skills while here.

Enjoy and post your tips, hints, crits and general thoughts.

P.s Will try and update once a week barring fire, work or illness.

Not bad at all. It's true, some of your lineworks are really good.

But you need to work more on proportions. For example the sketches you made of people at the bus. Some of them have extremely big heads in comparison to the rest of their bodies.

It's great that you're doing hand studies! but try to break the hand into shapes, it will make it easier to draw and will help you keep the proportions in check (I'm talking of course about the beginning stages when you're planing out the drawing). Look at Hogarth's and Bridgman's books on drawing anatomy, see the way they draw the hands.

By the way, that drawing of the samurai with the giant nose....love it, totally love it!

Yeah the quick sketches went horribly wrong, but finished them anyway.
I haven't studied anatomy in a long time that's why maybe I made little progress.
The long nose samurai is based on Japanese myth of Tengu.
Will keep at it.
