Thanks for all the comments me hearties.

I was asked on the CHOW side of things why I don't submit my work into the finals thread (@elephant's stroke). I answered this same question a while back.

I've been using CA for a while now as a tool to keep fresh from the daily things I'm working on at a studio level. Multiple years on a couple projects, and regular exposure to the same subject matter, doesn't allow me to grow and keep my ideas sharp.

I don't feel the need to try and win anything for the sake of winning, but I do find satisfaction in adding my flavor to the pot of images to express my ideas on a subject. What's great about this site is the exposure to ideas across multiple countries, where there are many people coming from various backgrounds in art. I never know what kind of madness I'll see next.

Stars by names are cool CA successes, but like most people on this site, I work hard so I suck less than the next guy who wants my job.

I was wondering about that.

The concepts I've seen you put out were all clear winners, so it's nice of you to step aside and allow us mortals a shot at the prize.

Although if you did enter it might encourage us to work even harder

I'm a big fan of your work, you seem to keep it all so clean and readable getting down to the colour very quickly. I need to refine my process some more as I feel I'm taking way too long to refine stuff... Nice work man!

I'll have to get a desktop capture application and make it happen. I'm a bit impatient with any type of app management with vid capture. My last one sucked nuts and caused major lag on my machine.

Yes, and yes! I've been looking at Bnoch's work and trying to get a better understanding of how to incorporate large blocks of color, shading, and texture wtih a limited amount of brushwork. The simplicity of shape and color contrasted with very detailed faces and what I call hotspot details makes the piece very clean but allows your mind to fill in all the gaps that the few very detailed portions hint at, genre, tech, environment, etc.

Bnoch you have a really awesome feel for composition. I wouldn't want to impose but any helpful suggestions or a crit would be most welcome. Composition something I struggle with, I have all the ideas in my head for these great epic pieces but between brain and canvas it gets lost in translation.

I'll try to upload the time lapse vid of the Fawn piece soon. I'm still trying to work out a good workflow for getting desktop caps edited down so I can do them regularly.
