Hi guys.. its been a year since i last posted... im greatful for this site for being there for all you great artists here...

i cant belive how many talented ppl are out there.. amazing photos .. amazing concept art...

i thought i should update my story ... and why i started all this.. thanks to 4tonmantis

- im 28 now.. and i first started drawing back in 21/7/2009 after long period of clinical depression and sever anxiety i had after some psychological problems... i always loved to draw but living in a labor family with hard life situation .. art is the last thing ppl look for where im from.. so it was hard to be an artist in these conditions.. so i got into electric engineering.. then architecture.. then graphic design.. for now i work in 3D modeling for architecture projects.. which is sooo boring.. but i never stopped loving art..

till i was in my bed one night .. and i saw on my laptop some art work for Soa Lee.. which is amazing.. and suddenly i took the decision.. its about time to start.. it is late... and i regret that.. but better late then never..
so i started in 21/7/2009 .. with betty`s famous book... and although i throw out all my bad sketches.. she said never throw ur first one... and i thought i should post it... for ppl to see that its possible .. to be an artist.. If you want too.. (im not an artist yet) .. but im on my way

You have a good sense of texture and an eye for detail. Anatomy and posture could be a bit more refined, as in the third and fourth images from the bottom, and the brightness on your images need not be turned up so highly. Other than that, you're on the right track.

the 3rd and 4th pictures are actually drawing from a model in class... i started it a week ago.. i always draw from pictures and i think i saw how much my drawings vary between live models and pictures... i dont know if i need more anatomy study or more model drawing...

as for the brightness i think im trying to remove the grayness in the pictures in Photoshop.. i guess i over burnt it.. i will dial it down in later pictures..

Hi. Your portrait looks good, as I can see the likeness of the celebrities or famous people you're doing of. The anatomy studies looks like it's going well. Maybe work on the clothes folds on the dressed models. Keep up the good work!

im glade you liked the portrait .. as u said there is some likeness.. specially when copying from a still picture... i still need a lot of work on live models or still life.. some ppl told me drawing from photos is not good on long term... coz i wont be able to create something that isnt there... (imaginative drawing).. or concept art... tomorrow i have a drawing session.. with models.. i will try focusing on clothes... strangely the instructor also told me to focus on cloths... specially folds...

i will post tomorrow some random drawing i did last couple of months...

i dont know if this is too slow or normal.. but i enjoyed it

i really should man up and start doing some digital art
i have some but its not that good yet....
i think the main reason is that i have a crappy genius 8x12 tablet
that really make it hard to do any work with it.. specially that
we dont have a wacom cintiq here .. i really think if i got my hands
on one of those.. i would never use a pincil and paper anymore..

but i promise i will do post some digital work next time i post...

but i couldn’t! i did some work but it isnt that good.. the genius tablet is really bad.. i was so frustrated that i went to amazon.com and ordered a cintiq 21 UX... but they said it will arrive at the first of March! so.. i need to wait 2 long months for it...

i should start painting on another medium so i started with oil painting

its hard... much harder then i thought... i`v been drawing

guys.. all the oil pictures here are photographed by my cell phone .. thats why it suck... now that most of them dried.. i will try to scan them for u and replace these crappy pictures..

as for now.. i decided to start 2 new oil paintings... a portrait for a girl and another for a running horse .. i will post them step by step.. for now .. i finished the pencil + ink stage... here you go

p.s the size of these 2 paintings is 50x70 cm on white canvas...
