Ties That go Deeper: it's more than title, and it's deeper than blood




This is the first series i've ever really worked on and i'm surprised that these little guys have stuck around this long. These are prints: acetone transfers, lithography (on the first & last) with monotype coloring & stained paper & mattes.

I've been using them in a third person context so that way i can address some family issues w/out hurting the actual family.

First this was a cynical series but it quickly became lighthearted then the final piece is more a tender image towards my mom.

Here i'm just laying down some sort of lighting so that way i can get depth while keeping the light source consistent.

More depth and contrast.
So far i really like the duller tones but i will play around with color towards the end.




btw: surus- thank you for the suggestion of giving the skelies more emotion,
that is a great idea and i will definitely try doing that with the next image.

More Skellies! I really do love drawing these little guys....girls....

So this piece came about from a few comments/conversations that i've had:

One is from Surus, who suggested that i give the Skellies more expressions.... gotta say, hard to do without reconstructing the bone. lol
The other came a person on DA who suggested a steampunk theme!

As for the elongated heads, well i was going for an African theme and i was looking up different types of skulls.

Been awhile since i've updated here

It has been a very long time since i've uploaded something on this particular forum. I need help with this image below, mostly with color. If anyone has suggestions please throw them at me.





As you can see i put down some color just for an idea of where i possible want to go.....but i'm not really thrilled with this palette...
