    Lammashta's Sketchbook

everyone works here is amazing, and i think this is a great place to learn and grow. so even though i feel quite out of my league im going to contribute as much as i can. so here is some early work and more recent.

    some early work

and recently after not drawing for a while. it feels beyond good to be drawing again

Hi Lammashta and welcome to CA.

Your first picture has some good shadows.(neck)
I do not know how much realistic you want to draw but I would recommend to draw anatomy.

For example in your fac nr. 2 (designs) the mout is placed to too low.

I will post something which was given to me:

    http://www.posemaniacs.com/pose/thirtysecond.html

Really helps a lot in figure drawing.

Keep up your drawings and posting. I will have a look on it.

Thanks for the vote in the masquerade chow.

That last piece you've got there is a great improvement over some of the earlier ones. The figure is more fluid, the proportions better, and the volume too. Doing it in greyscale first definitely helped there. Anatomy practice would be good - I found that Burne Hogarth's Dynamic Anatomy book has helped me along in that area, along with life drawing.

(I take it you've noticed that the syllable count at the beginning of Lateralus forms the Fibbonaci sequence, which is at the heart of that spiral they keep talking about. As well as the golden section which is so important in drawing. )

You should start up the posting here again.
Take a look at my series of in-depth critiques, like this one of Salvador Dali's hidden portrait of Lincoln.

Scott's Sketchbook: Check out my sketchbook. Will swap C&Cs.

taking a sculpture class and this is my final. We had to choose one of our own characters to use. I worked with super sculpey. I tried firm which seemed to be recommended a lot but it was just to hard to work with my knowledge and skill atm and stuck with the pink stuff. smoothing out the clay and forming pieces together was much easier that way.

Working the fine detail was very hard as i could never seem to "get in there". The hair was supposed to be a super spikey mohawk and look kinda like dreads but i couldnt figure out how to pull that off so i settled for regular dreads. it looks good to me but isnt exact.

here are the original designs ( i altered her clothes a bit through the process) and the figure after baking. my oven sucks so i did 2 15 mins at around 200; i didnt want to risk burning it. painting is next.

suggestions, advice , crits for next time ect are welcome.

wow, those sculptures are great! the anatomy seems really well balanced.
really try and bring that anatomy knowledge into the drawings more! crits for next time are to focus on limb length/proportion. the thighs/legs on your scultpure seem a little too short to me, same problem with her upperarms in the sketch where she is standing with her arms wrapped around herself
i like the animals a lot
