60s? As for life drawings, all the labs, all the hands and feet, + misc objects i've been posting have been from life.

Nice work!! You're well on your way to being a great animator! Have you read The Illusion of Life? It's a disney book, best drawings and tons of info from the original great Disney artists.

First off, thanks for coming over to comment on my sketchbook!

Secondly, I think you've got the hang of animal expression and anatomy. You do lots of animal drawings for the comics and you have improved a lot since the beginning of your sketchbook. Your use of color has improved as well, some of those comic panes are really really nice. One critique I have, and I didn't look to see all of the comments so forgive me if someone else said it, some of your human anatomy and poses are a bit stiff. Don't get me wrong from the beginning of your sketchbook until now you've improved tenfold, but I would make it a point to do more anatomy studies and more poses. Your poses are a bit stiff but I think you can easily get them to flow. One thing I started doing and I don't know if it will help you but I'll pass it along...I started making all my human poses with curved lines, no straight lines. Arm bends, leg bends, everything curved. I feel it helps show movement and allows for the flexibility of the human body. Anyway, glad to see you improving so much keep up the good work!

Hey wing! it's critique time >:]. Anyway, overall your improving with your line quality and how you portray form. One thing I find to be an issue is that you seem to have drawn way to many things from imagination that your observational drawings are lagging behind and that you seem to be using symbols for a lot of things. One thing I suggest is to try and work traditionally and do tons of contour related exercises and things which have a lot to do with seeing and studying your model. Perhaps self portraits? and blind hand contours as well hand contour hand drawing along with still life? Right now it seems like you are doing pretty well but don't forget that all the successful animators spent hours and hours in their life drawing classes really studying and observing the human figure as well as many other things such as animals, plants and simple objects. For the digi paintings(although I've never really painted in my life), from what I heard is that you should try and get rid of the mentally of thinking along the lines of "dirt is brown", "apple is red", "leaves are green" so there are more colors to an object that you think so don't be afraid to experiment with your colors.

    60s = 60 second poses.
I'm a total line snob so I like the tutorial Lakai put up. lol. I love a shiny clean line drawing.

This page shows a bit more exploring- 333 has some good boxes, and I like the toilet in 341.
Keep exploring new things and expanding your studies. It's all good stuff

    Happy sketching.

looking at your life drawings you may need to take more time doing observational drawing to work on proportions perhaps try to do longer studies with more intense visual measuring.

Hi wing thx for the crit .
Did a small overpaint. Seems to be easier for me to say something useful that way.

some things I've changed and noticed:
    - the overall colors have a greenish tint. Which doesnt support the message. Also the sun is about to set. The overall colors rather would be warm.
    - water is reflective ( if i'm not wrong the more u watch it from the side the more reflective it gets). The river would reflect some of the surroundings like the waterside and the sky.
    - the farther away an object is in space the less contrast it has through the particals in the atmosphere. Also its color approaches the color the atmosphere has. the farther away an object is the blurrier it appears.
    - I've cropped the image abit. theres too much "empty" space on the left. The format of the image in general makes it rather appear undynamic. Rather use a rectangular format then a square ( k depends on the intension, if its a calm scene it propably would fit better).
-I've set the focus on the animals by making it brighter where they are and darker to the edge of the image. U also can enhance this futher by adding more detail and sharpness where the focus is and make it less blurry and less detailed in the other areas.
    ...

    hope it helps

Such huge work loads! Keep up the great work!! Its really great to see you trying new things and learning! I learned that failing teaches you alot hahahah just got to keep pushing and follow the advice from people like Lakai and others!
Oh and here is my response to your comment in my sketchbook!! "Yea i imagine using clay would indeed help, i need to try that soon. I noticed using some free 3d models from google sketchup helps alot when tyring to see how designs and objects look from all angles!! Thanks!!!!" Keep going!!

That's a great overpaint Lakai did. Also I agree with what Kamikaz was saying, earlier -- more observational stuff will help boost your imagination stuff immensely. It's good to see you've been doing some more! It'd be good if you could sit down and do a good, long observational study, though. Don't rush it, don't be afraid to take your time.
