Pose 3 is the hardest to read at the moment. The last one is quite good. When are you going to start?

I have started a figure study group on fantasyartstudy.ning.com The next five months I will be working through the book Figure Drawing For All It's Worth and some video tutorials about drawing the figure from my mind. I will upload all my work to this sketch book.
Comments are welcome!

Figure Drawing From My Mind
day 1
This is my first day trying to understand the basic structure of the male anatomy. I know this looks simple, but I actually never gave much thought to the fact that the elbows are situated just above the navel. I always thought the elbow was on a level with the navel. I also learnt that I can draw a "V" from the navel and through the nipples to decide the wide of the shoulders.

There was a problem with the side view of the figure I uploaded yesterday.
The gravity was wrong, because I pushed the joint of the leg to face back.

Nice work on the figures Marianne =) The head looks a little squashed in some views tho =) Good luck with your art goals this year =)
thats poses up top look good
Today, I have been trying to understand how I can turn the figure seen from the side to a 3/4 pose. It is importuned to understand the shape of the chest and pelvis to do the 3/4 pose.
I did a side-view drawing and created a box around the figure, then I shaded in the negative space around the figure to understand the shaped of the chest and pelvis.
To understand what happens when I turn the figure into the 3/4 pose, I started my first drawing with a grid based on the box from the side view. I constructed the figure in the same way as I did in the side view. As you can see I kept the negative space on the 3/4 view.
Now I need to practice posing the figure in all sorts of 3/4 views.

I am working on a spring painting with a stubborn rabbit and some wee people trying to push it out of their tulips. I am doing a lot of sketches to find the strongest poses for the wee people.

Hi there!
Love pose two and pose three, just great! Would like to see more rendering though, as the little pose robots clearly deserve more attention. Also, the spring painting is coming along very nicely, but have you thought more about the composition. Don't forget that the movement should come not only from the poses itself, but from the surroundings too - for extra oomph.
Best wishes,
Keep up the good practice!
Ana
You're doing fine. Love the little water colour.
Hey ranunkel,
I don't know whether I had actually posted in here before..
I really like your studies, especially the Violin stick figures are really interesting- only with the stick figure you portrait so much movement, I envy!
I think you should do more studies from life, or figure drawing from photos under time limit to push your flow and line confidentiality. It seems you keep coming back to stick figures and you feel uncomfortable going further (I understand fully) and I think that is where you have to push.
Just my two cents, very nice traditional media skills(!)
You're getting the hang of drawing figures and you're going in the right direction with that painting.
