Absolutely brilliant stuff, and the last post has a sort of energy and style that I love. Thanks for sharing Sparth, this is exactly the reason I got into posting on CA in the first place. For like minded people to share and exchange ideas.

    thanks again, Tom

Wow! I really dig the new stuff! Kinda reminds me of Jacques Villon.
"Contrary to the belief of the layman, the essential of art is not to imitate nature, but under the guise of imitation to stir up excitement with pure plastic elements: measurements, directions, ornaments, lights, values, colors, substances, divided and organized according to the injunctions of natural laws. While so occupied, the artist never ceases to be subservient to nature, but instead of imitating the incidents in a paltry way, he imitates the laws."-Andre Lhote

    Damn, Sparth!

First these custom brushes that give this random factor that I didn't know was possible and that you and Vyle got such an amazing spin on, now these custom shapes. I'm kind of starting to get how so many of your pics lately look so tight and sharp. I've just done this one pic below here as a first experiment, using some custom brushes to make custom shapes: it's really easy once you know how. I'm definitely going to play with this some more.

And now this Alchemy thing! Jesus, what a tool! And perfect for someone like me: I can do freaky details and nice colors but composition has never been my forte. This is so playful, I love it. Thank you Sparth!!!!

I really dig your use of colors, bold and powerful, as well as the shapes you utilize in your work, almost gives it an abstract aspect.. keep it up bro.

glad I stumbled upon this, Always appreciated your posts at sijun, and its great to see you being more instructive in this thread! I think the shapes are such a great compositional tool, 'building' the structure of an image is alot more intuitive than having to put it down out of a single stylus like a brush.

Sparth, Great Sketchbook you started here, thanks again for sharing some of your technique. It's cool to see what people are up to using custom shapes, do you mind people uploading their artwork to your sketchbook?

I started messing around with this technique today and had a little bit of trouble controlling the placement of the shapes, which I didn't like. So I found out that if you hold down Spacebar while dragging out your shape you can move it around. I don't know whether this is a well known fact but I just thought I'd mention it.
