Preview thumbnail?

I ran a search to try and ficure this one out on my own... but didn't find what I was looking for:

In the Artwork Forums most threads with attached images have a small thumbnail to the left of the thread, a preview one can see prior to opening a thread.

How is that applied? I'd like readers to be able to preview my art prior to accessing my posts.

The first image attached to the first post in your thread will be the thumbnail. The attachment feature is the button that looks like a paperclip when you make a post.
