    Arrow Tome of Searing Passions

    Hi everyone,

Welcome to my humble sketchbook. Ive been doing some basic sketching in the past but had to stop for a long time. However now i have spare time to do some sketching so here i am

After posting couple of artworks i figured out i have issues with anatomy/proportions in my drawings. I hope to practice and get my sketching into a good standard by maintaining a sketchbook here. Im a self learner so please provide feedback whenever you feel like, since it'll help me to improve a lot. It doesn't matter your critiques are harsh, so feel free.

I have started referring some books (especially Andrew Loomis, many thanks to 'Star Eater' ) and im hoping to post my new sketches daily. I believe you people will provide a helping hand for a newbie artist by providing feedback.

I have included some of my old drawings at the beginning of this thread (couple of years old) and will update daily. Please refer to the last page for most recent work.

Thanks for your time, Hope you enjoy.

you have the talent ...and your rendering is pretty good ...and I like your designs, the only con I noticed is the prospective, I think you should practice more on the prospective drawing because most of your faces are drawn from the front

Arrow Some basic live drawings - Figurines

@Star Eater - Thanks for the suggestion and i just started sketching some figurines i have at home as you mentioned. So i started with a basic one here and kept to minimum detail. Will do some detailing as i get use to this. (i quickly applied some colors in corel painter so i can learn about painting a little as well)

@SadMonster - Thanks man. As you mentioned ill be moving into perspective drawings soon. I got some books that so hopefully will get better at this eventually. (Andrew Loomis)

Thanks a lot for your feedback guys and please let me know if there are more suggestions/critiques.

    Arrow Drawing using a reference

This is a piece i did lately. Im using reference images for my study of human figure. I used 2H-6B pencils for the original sketch (1st image). In addition, I did a bit of value adjustment Photoshop(2nd image).

I have included the reference image as well. Please feel free to let me know what you think, since it'll help my study immensely.

    Thanks and hope you enjoy.

good start, keep up with the reference work, that's the fastest track to more improvement. Some more traditional anatomy sketches are a good idea also.

    Arrow Mountains

I just wanted to try out painting some mountains and figure out how grayscale values can be used effectively. I didn't use any direct reference for this one but shoul use from next onwards i guess. I started off with 3 values and later applied colors.

Any suggestions/critiques are more than welcome, as usual.

hello. i think you should lay of the digital painting for a while. You will improve faster if you realy learn how to draw with pencil before doing digital.
Draw from life! and do it alot.

    selfportraits is good training !

The photoshoped version looks pretty awesome! The nose looks a bit small to me but it's not bothering much.

Thanks a lot and you are right about the nose libellchen. Also, i have messed up the proportions between nose and the mouth a bit too.

Anyways i need much more practice so hoping to do at least 50 more drawings from references. Hopefully that knowledge will help me when i start to draw from my imagination.

Looks like you're onto a good start, and studies already!
I think it's brilliant that you're taking what studies you've done with Loomis and immediately tried to apply them to your imaginitive work, it's a good way to soak up what you're being taught.

So anyways, keep up the good work!

You are doing fine. And I think that you are using to much those fancy textures, sometimes it's hard to see what’s on the picture, and your drawings disappear into the background. So I suggest that you make those textures more subtle ;>. Keep posting!

I support the idea of backrounding your drawings,
it just gives them a nice touch,
but I also agree with Ramalooke,
you just need a bit to fade the back
layer, or make the opacity lower. Otherwise
keep catching the subjects running away from
my sketchbook, cause there will be more of them
    coming.
This last drawing is great, maybe with lesser
anatomy mistakes, but your shading is ace mate.
"Tome of Violence" -man I love that idea.
Maybe I should change my sketchbook name to that?
Thank you very much for including my link in your signature.

Arrow Study - Ribcage and sacrum

    Hello everyone,

@Lt.Plissken - Love to be in the same team mate ! Also, thanks a lot for the support and ideas of yours mate, as always. If you like it change it to "Tome of Violence" or "Snake's Tome of Violence". I like it

    Now for the latest stuff....

I've added some brush strokes and colors to my previous photo ref study (despite the anatomical errors) and im moving into more studies regarding the chest cavity, ribs and sacrum area. Hopefully someone here may find em useful so here you go.

Hoping to use this knowledge and draw something from my imagination now. Will post it as soon as its done.

Have a nice day people. Peace out.
