Thanks Snake. I've checked it out. It's pretty cool. But I figure out that I simply need to do some studies and practice this technique.

Well, it's Sunday again. This means I'll be gone for the week. So I'm throwing stuff I did. Even if it's not much. Slowly getting back my momentum. Pretty pumped, cuz of that. I hope that I'll be back into my normal study routine during this week. Fingers crossed. Cheers!

Maybe I write it before, your SB is among the ones I frequently pop in but I usually can't say anything useful, you know your stuff more than me, for most part. Some of your paintings hit me hard with being so 3 dimensional, I wish I would able to do that, I know, practice
Your warrior and mage (or what) wip looks interesting, I have some thoughts about it but they are very chaotic and I'm uncertain, I like things going there, it's dynamic and interesting, not sure about some elements that potentially will lead me out of the picture but it depends how you will paint them, the background colors are nice but maybe too peaceful for this scene, but I don't know much about these things. The woman's head is definitely odd though. Heads are the only things I can criticize here as my inner critic is best at them and your heads are a big step behind your figures. But you practice them so they will catch up

Hey Rama, cool to see you messing around with some industrial designs. They seem pretty far removed from your usual stuff but nothing wrong with that. A small thought about the painting your working on, I think just the overall composition should be rethought a but more.

I think how you placed the spell infront of his leg or his dark cloths works well, but I think the drawing kinds feels like your forcing that to happen. Kinda taking away from the dynamic thing your going for. Maybe spend a bit of time taking some rough reference to just solve some of the drawing things a little more?

As for skin tones and going from grey scale to color, I think just the more you do it the more it will start to make sense to you how to do it. Might be a faster technique, but to do it accurately is very hard I think.

Looking forward to more and seeing your momentum build back up!

Awesome, awesome sketchbook. So much greatness.

You asked for a crit on that last WIP, and I think I have one for you.

I tried doing the same pose as that warrior guy, and I came to the conclusion that it's impossible to pull off. Now I might not be the worlds most flexible guy, but I wasn't even close. I just don't think a human being can twist that much. But I'm occasionally a moron, so take anything I say with a grain of salt. Anyway, it's something to consider.

The womans facial expression is great though.

    Keep it up!

Liking the last one for sure,
I am not sure about crits, it looks good
for me, these colors do good to my eyes.
They will be chopping up everyone in no time,
and body parts will be all around. Blood and gore...

The woman's face got much better and I don't only mean the details. Some touches on her raised arm and legs and she will be really nice.
The gesture of the man doesn't make sense to me, I don't even see what he's doing. The head/torso attach seems weird to me, the parts (head and shoulders) themselves looks nice, you surely worked on it for long

hey man, i saw you wanted a crit so i thought i'd take the time to break this down abit for you. I may have gone abit overboard so i hope you don't mind =S

Heres a paint over i did trying to highlight some possible errors.

    1. The composition. The women is hanging off the bottom of the page and its making her look flat, especially with the dynamic guy behind her. So all ive done is raise her more into the page and stopped her cloths from flowing off the canvas. I also did the same with her staff and stopped that from being cropped off the side of the page. The circular smoke, clouds in the background are a great addition to this piece as well man, so push that abit more too.

    2. anatomy. The heads are both too big on the characters so i shrunk them abit and also tried to push the forms and foreshorting abit more. I didnt do a very good job of it but the womens legs could be pushed into perspective abit beter too to add to that dymanic feel. The males posture is abit wrong too. If you can, try this pose out yourself and get someone to photo you too see what i mean. Basically the torso cant turn that much with the legs pointing in that direction.

Heres a couple of gestures to beter explain what i mean and your options (in my opinion) A, If you want to have both shoulders showing and the back the legs need to turn more to the side or B, f you want the legs and torso pointing more towards the front you need to show less of the other arm and no back.

3.Lighting and values. I made a overlay layer and pushed the light and darks abit further. Also, i noticed in your previous posts you were having trouble with going greyscale to colour. From what ive read and my own experience this is one of the more effective ways of doing it. I use overlay/soft light, to push the lighter colours, and multiply to push the shadow/darker colours. I know people use a colour layer too.
I tried to make more areas of contrast too to help the composition, so making more light on dark areas, it might help to greyscale to help see this beter. Finally i pushed the blue magic ball thing to make a stronger light source and focal point.

Think thats abit it, sorry if this was abit over the top, i just wanted to help because this piece is prity frickin awesome. You should keep pushing it, remember its from mistakes we grow stronger, so keep pushing those areas you feel weak at.

    Peace dude

Ok! Been super busy. Got new client plus one in the way. I'm moving in couple days so things are getting pretty intense. But I manage to do some work. Nothing fancy, though.

    Hey rama!

I really like your damn studies.
They look like very well observed and constructed. I wish my ones would look the same.

For your big moon like concept. Put some hard edges in there. It will push the form great.

    Keep going dude!

How do you get the clients man? Tell me, tell me,
I need the money. Those asteroids are interesting and
they are good to train values and lighting on more complicated
shapes. The swordsman and the sorceress is ok, I read about
the guy's awkward body twist, I am not sure, maybe they
are right, maybe his pose is a bit way to exaggerated. And
now I talk about my self, the weapons, like sword and axe
in perspective is really killing me lately. Like for example it
is real hard for me to put a long sword in perspective, cause
it will look short, and I just do not want to make that impression,
if you know what I mean. What should I say about the sorceress?
Bigger breasts of course, but it's just me. And maybe a more feminine
face. The last stylized guy with the sword is sweet. I was thinking
about the white background, I was always preaching that it's wrong
to use white background, cause of the high contrast, and cause it
will alter your real colors that you used on your painting. But afterall
I see that lot of them use it, so I am not sure anymore.
What do you think about that subject?
In the end, I am very satisfied with your progress, and it is a real
joy to visit your sketchbook. P.S, I am not sure what is happening
with your live streams, I have not been there for ages.

I'm actually pretty curious as well, i'm still a developing scrub but it'll be useful info to have later. Also awesome stuff Rama, liking the new digital stuff. I don't suppose the Link is Crimson Daggers related? i know that's the current blood sport.

Thanks Snake it's always good to have you here. I'm not streaming atm I hope I can do it again sometime soon. I quite miss those streams. About those clients. I made threads with my images on Conceptart and deviant art in looking work section. Plus I have a really simple portfolio here
in case I want to apply somewhere. But then again I don't have lot of clients. I'm lucky if I get commision a month. So I'm not the right person to answer your question. Just make a decend portfolio, stay active so ppl can see you and have your eyes and ears open. That's my advice. Hope that helps. Cheers.

    @ Ixallus
Yeah, those are concepts for my bloodsports entry. But I didn't enter.

Here I am. With a really small update. I have some stuff going on with client work and movement. I need to get those out of the way, cuz they keep me disorganized. It sucks. Hope I'll be back on track soon. So here are my zelda dudes and two +/- 40 minutes speedpaints. But I think I'll bring goku to the finish ;D. Anyway, that's it. Cheers.

Try to hit me up on skype if I forget it again. :<
    We need to talk. Seriously!

And you're also doing nice mate!
These zelda pieces are looking delicious!
Only thing I would suggest is to refine Ganondorf a little bit more.
In comparison to Zelda, he has a veeeery soft rendering which makes him look like the good one instead of the bad guy.
Zelda looks much more detailed and serious because you used a lot more hard edges to define her.

I hope you get what I meant, haha!

I agree, ganon feels a little to soft. However I think zelda could maybe use a softer face? I don't know she looks like tuff stuff for a gurl. Nice updates! You should do like dragonball z fan art haha. I could see you doing a pretty sick Goku.

I'm still learning the usage of soft brush. You can get really good effects once you get use to it. But then applying textures is a must in other painting seems to be a little unfinished. And that's what happened here.

    @LtPlissken
    You are welcome

    @Ludic
Yeah you're right. Those characters simply need some extra 3-5 hours. Thanks for dropping in. It was a while since I saw you here. Cheers.

Cześć . Yeah I hope to get back to regular updates anytime soon. Need to get some work out of the way first. Thanks for visiting

Things are a little crazy lately. I never had so much work to do. Plus I have really shitty internet connection, back in home (now I'm typing from office). That's way I may seem almost dead. Gonna be back as soon as I get commision work out of the way and have decent interwebz. It gonna happen sometime soon. I think. I might even reboot my streams to help myself get back into study routine. Will see. For now I'm posting my goku wip. Cheers.
