Looking good man, I like your use of colour, I think #4 or 6 are my favourites.
If you're aiming for a more realistic rendition, it feels like your portraits could use a bit more structure and consistency. Your nose seems misaligned with your eyes in a couple of them - #1/2 are good examples I think, compared to a more accurate #6. I experienced this often myself :], and it's possible that you're moving. Maybe you're locking eyes with yourself after/before you draw your nose at an angle. I had to get really strict with my poses sometimes, and it can be really difficult to not end up drawing an exciting expression where my eyes looked 'dead'(focussing :p).
But, starting a drawing with planes, structure and proportional features will tie you down to keeping things unified. Your avatar image would be a great way to approach a self portrait. I'd like to see that ;]!
Keep it up, looking good, hope that helps!
My personal favourites are the last too and the first painted self-portrait. I think you work great with pastel. Keep up!![]()
Thanks everyone; by the way I haven't used pastel in these, it was colored pencil; though
I do plan on using my new nupastels to do a self portrait soon.
I just got a self portrait mirror finally, so I'll be updating this thread a lot more often.
Did this one about a month ago; I was happy with the colors kind of,
but I messed up the facial proportions

Wow, it's been forever since I've updated this thread.

These are great
my only crit however, is that the structure of your head could be pushed further, remember- there's a skull underneath, and an order to how your features sit and are lined up together.
Looking forward to more =)
Thanks for the crit Evan, that's something I'll work on! I'm going to try keeping this updated again, at least twice a week. Here we gooooo
