    Design features:
    based on a future mass production vehicle;
    has got huge tracks which are very bright so it would be easily seen in the dark. There's also heaters on them that so no snow would stuck on it, and it also improves traction in some cases;
    powered on nuclear cell;
    has a huge spoiler just like any rally vehicle should

    My finally finished finalized prototype.
    A lightweight vehicle where the driver sits in the front and navigator in the rear. Wheels are made out of a rubber-plastic compound in order to keep costs and environmental strain low.
    Also they are spiked with shards of plastic to keep the car on the ground in corners.

    AWD, 3 liter twin-turbo flat-four at the front, two weeks' supplies at the back. Built to race around the now-frozen world. Intake is located above and behind the passenger compartment, so the car can traverse deep snow with no problem.

    hey guys this is my 4 wheel drive arctic rally championship car.
    so it got a maximum grip through it's treads and a high mobility because of the big balloon tyres.
    good luck everyone

    IDW 141 - Arctic Rally Vehicle

    The ARV, The Ice Block, nicknamed the Internet. Hot water is continually pumped through a series-of-tubes to prevent freezing. It is also a big truck.

    A few notes on the round:

    I-Z : Your entry is invalid because of insufficient rendering over your 3D model. I've left it up however in case you can get some crits.

    I am also going to have to bring back the question of whether I should have to make "quality control" cuts to entries if the participation rate continues to be this great. What do you guys think? This came up a while back with Yoitisi and the response was a resounding yes, but you are nearly a completely different group.

    Thank you, thank you, thank you all for participating. IDW and other weeklies cannot exist without participants.

    I really like kischi's design. May be in 3/4 view can be better but whatever, I voted for him.
    I also like KarylGilbertson's vehicle.

    As for the "quality control". Now I see that my own entry will not pass my own "quality control"... I'm waiting for the next round and, I promise, I will be better.

    Hi, is it possible for me to upload my wips? because the only 3d i used was a basic dougnut shape for the wheels to save time everything else was drawn, but i take this as a compliment haha

    I don't think cuts should be made for quality unless the work is blatantly lazy. You never know, by letting people with weaker work into the poll you could create a drive for them to get votes and turn them into regular participants (and better artists).

    BTW, great work everyone! This turned out to be an awesome round. Karyl got my vote but it was close with Kisci.

    diCharge: Nice work. I actually think that the first sketch you put up, with the lower view point, was better constructed and more interesting. It looks like you got everything lined up better in this finished one though. I would recommend focusing on clarity of execution. Make all of your edges distinct clearly fleshed out.
    Elbi: I think your piece is well done. The mountainous forms in the upper right are too blobby and it would have been better to just make it a flat arctic plain, but the simplicity of the rest of it adds well to piece. The vehicle itself looks a little ill proportioned and a little toy like, but otherwise clean and well designed.
    NickTrip: Come on man.....
    General F.: That's a cool design and it looks fast, but it's a little sloppy. Try to get things a little cleaner. Overall its a nice unique design.
    I-Z: Your work is nice and clean and it looks good. I would work on including a greater range of values. The whole thing looks kinda grey overall. Also, the vehicle looks pretty much like a normal buggy. I'm guilty of this too...
    DarkSmokePuncheR: That looks like it would do really well in arctic conditions. I would recommend watching your forms though. The soft rendering on the body of the racer doesn't really jive up with its apparent shape.
    kischi: Really well executed, it looks great. Which direction does the drive sit? It looks like he's supposed to face the right, but it looks like he wouldn't be able to see over the hood. Great work overall!
    KarylGilbertson: Your design is really unique, that's what got my vote. Get execution too it really looks awesome. Even though you have a cast shadow, it still looks like it's weirdly floating. I'm not sure why, it's probably just me
    Gorgonbunny: It looks like it fits in the arctic, but it look more like a research vehicle than a racer. I think its a little too tall. Also I would recommend working on cleaning up and clarifying the presentation. The scene looks really cool, but it would be better if the truck were a little clearer and easier to read. Good work though.

    Good to hear some feedback already! I had the feeling that qc wouldn't fly. On my part it is very hard at a certain point to find that line of "balantly lazy" and low skill level unless I go through every participant's sb or past work which is simply not feasible. Some say being cut motivates to get in (and get better), and others say it just depresses them.

    I-Z: Ha! You did do a good job didn't you! Sorry about that. And of course you can upload your wips- there's a wips thread made just for that! There's nothing I can do about it now, but I think this is a prime example to everyone that wips are important before the fact. The poor wips threads are underused; think of all the possible crits!

    Thanks for the comments and the votes guys.

    I agree with NickTrip, unless it's really really bad / you can't tell what it is, let 'em in the poll, inspire 'em to keep it rollin'

    Hey guys thanks for your votes! Elib: side I know
    Hey Nick the driving direction is left - thanks for the comments.

    I think let them in, if it depresses them they'll stop participating if not they'll try again and will get better.

    Of all of the entries, I like what Karyl, General F., Gorgonbunny, and Kischi have done. As for Elbi, your piece isn't loading, so I can't comment on it.
