Kerah KEEEERRAAHHH It is terrible it is terrible ~! ужасный! So I have to get out of bed really early just to be on time for the classes. They start at fffff***ing 8:30 means I have to catch a train around 7:30 or something. OH GOSH THAT IS SO EARLY *rant*
And I am not a morning person. I prefer to draw at niiiight.
Oh I only have one year left dude

Creusa Not fair! School started too early here. YEAH SCOOTER
    and sparta... BUT ESPECIALLY SCOOTER
    Скутер велик!

I hope Google Translate got it right

Ranunkel Thank you This actually reminds me that I haven't done many still lives lately...

    UPDATE
I had a rather bad day today. School started early REALLY EARLY today. Then... I did some work in a program and the stupid thing crashed on saving my file. Stupid thing. Can't they PROGRAM it right. :V
And provide proper error information... I want to see hex numbers when it goes down!
I mean what went wrong? Did the process for saving not get any CPU resources or something? :V

    *thinks too much about it*

Was the kernel like... OH YOU WANT TO SAVE. Well, too bad Sushy.
I will just let this process exit with -1.

OK and then... I had to go home. And then it suddenly starts to rain! So I came home soaked.
    Hey that was it xD
    quick summary LOL

This song brightens it a bit at least v_v

    Now the actual updates...
Study from a still of I, Robot. I loved that movie.

It did not go well and I just do not know it anymore so I just post it here.

And then... drawings done at school/train/bus...
Tomorrow I will just take my sketchbook with me, I hate that lined paper.

And last one is a vector I am working on.
I am sorry it contains so much manga again...
    still stuck between styles...

@Shad: I am glad you say it... Today I feel not creative at all.
Still drawing though even though I am sooo tired :V

@nifrit: ah your Dutch was quite cute

    Updates.
I am tired. So do not expect much.
Waking up before seven just kills my creative spirit.

Maybe they should play Scooter music when I enter the school building.

Hey sus! Thanks for the moral support; I thought I should return the favour. Great sketches you got here, nice directional crosshatching and good proportions. One thing I do notice is soe of yoir drawing, seem off balance. This is partly due to their placement on the paper, and partly to their center of grafity, which often doesnt feel rigth. Like in the lady nude in your last post.

find the center of gravity (the place @ which you could balance person/object in this position on one finger), then from there draw a straigh line to the floor (imagine a piece of lead on a string hanging from that point) the point where that line hits the floor, should be the point right in between the points where your figure is rooted on the ground (usually right in between person's two feet).
-this is how it's done for static figures. if you want a figure to move or fall, you simply shift the center of grafity into what direction you want the figure to move/fall.

great work! I like to see that your doing mad studies! nice improvement. I really like your line quality, i can see it going somewhere. I still feel like in some areas of your pen work you need to be less jagged and more smooth, but hey that will come with practice. In your paintings I would show bit more contrast between lights and darks to make the form pop out more! Other than that I hope you continue to stay hardcore. Keep it up

Suz its rly admirable you do sketches on bus; and yeah let that cyborg guy go xd...I doubt that extra long imagination study is usefull as some life or photo speed paints at this stage of your development.

@yogeshj25: Thank you I definately hope to stay hardcore!
    HARDCORE!

    (I like hardcore)

so if you ever mention the word I right away go looking for some fitting music...
    oh this is fitting:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90p1jy3iTus
I used to listen to this when I did morning studies.
OK that song basically sums up the essence of ... my art... me... myself... and all

Anyway thanks for your useful comment. I will pay attention to the contrasts

@Liberty: thank you, yeah sketching in the bus is really hard. I do not always manage to do so because I often cannot sit D=
The bus is so full XD
In fact it is a famous bus in Holland, famous for being way too crowded xD
Nooo I cannot abandon cyber guy! I am starting to love the character...
When that happens I cannot throw it away. :V
    Anyway thank you

    so yeah.
Today it is finally weekend... I am freaking sick. -__- I barely got anything done today *cries*

Also, stupid library does not have the books I have to read for school! SO FRUSTRATING.
WHERE DO I GET THEM NOW WITHIN THREE DAYS.
And I am so stressed because of all shit I have to do and my disease becomes way worse and gah. I wish it would end (the disease that is).

    *panic*

    Anyway now some updates!

@andres333: hm yeah I know that site, it seems very useful indeed. I never really took the time to read all the information there XD
    Maybe I should do that.

Daily update again! Just some sketchbook scans this time...
Gah, I cannot deal well with all the school stress.

Also, I saw there are some companies that actually hire... concept artists...
It is actually a job here in Holland...
Do you think I could be a concept artist too?

Most of my work was aiming towards illustration, but I think concept artist would be a cool job too. o_0
Unfortunately my portfolio would not be suitable to apply for a concept art job, so I was wondering... What do you think that should be in a concept art portfolio?

(I guess there are threads about it on CA a lot xD, so I will search there when I have... free time. xD)

Anyway, my current obsession is Gareth Emery and his Garuda label:

He produces the best trance I have heard.

    Here are some sketches!

lovely sketches! and I really like that vector piece. one thing I notice, espec in your live drawing, is you sometimes could be a bit 'boulder' in your shaping. make a round shape really round, a sharp crease really sharp. in a hand, make the diverences between thumbpad and the part beforeit bigger. the thumb pad thicker, flatter. the before round. the joint square-ish. etc, etc.
    Warning, I draw babiez

    Lovely work!

The only bit of crit I can offer is on the colouring of your cyborg man. Your shading looks too monochromatic, giving him a green tinge. But skin is made of reds and pinks and browns. Typically, highlights lean towards yellow and shadows towards purple (though it differs with other lighting). Do a few photo studies of people and pay particular attention to the colour of their skin under different lighting and you'll see what I mean. It'll help bring him to life some more.

    Kassary Thank you !

ashess Meer overdrijven in de vormen bedoel je? Dat is wel een goed idee ja

Umbravita Thank you. I actually had a reason for the shadows, I wanted him to have a cold colour scheme, to make it all cool and metal and such. Or could I add warm colours anyway?
    Anyway thanks for the advice!
