    'Dummy'. Short film poster art

    Long time no see!

Im back with some new film poster art I'd like to share and hear what you think. So here's the story..

By far the most conceptual thing i've done. Originally made as poster art for a short film titled 'Dummy'. An earlier version competed in the Odeon
Short Film Competition 09 and won Best Poster. My original entry wasn't as full on as this one, I had some really good ideas I needed to realise! I
wanted to create something that required a closer look at the details for your own interpretation. Just had alot of fun with it after the competition.

Cropped teaser poster with added film title graphic and production logos.

I recently created an animated presentation in HD that takes you deeper into the world of the image here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNTBbf78K-I

It is interesting how the objects start popping out after a bit and then can't be unseen.

I'm starting to pick up all the metaphors only after studying it for a bit. In some ways I almost feel like there are too many ideas going on here, or at least a single one needs to come out to the front as a representative. For a movie poster maybe the communication should be a little quicker, at least at first.

But there is something to all the different elements being in there. Having a bunch of disturbing themes all candy coated and glossed up is intriguing to me. It did make me look closer and study it rather than walk away.

    disclaimer:
For some reason only part of the film would load so I couldn't watch past the first minute , but I did see the animated poster which was sweet.

Thanks for your comment, valid opinions here. Glad to see your picking up on the metaphors and meanings going on. I agree, there is alot of things going on as you point out, I personally think art with more visual language and possibilities will out live simple one dimensional artwork. During the creation process the piece became more than just a film poster for me.

Thanks again for your positive words and watching my animation.
