Today's study and linework for tomorrow, gonna do some anatomy studies later on.
No hair, no face...colors suck and contrast is totally not given. I need to work on that since this has happened before already.

bobmeatbag: The first study based on shapes and that portrait was supposed to be built up on the lines, so that I mix these techniques up to get some variation and different approaches.

Probably it's time to start creating stuff out of my imagination.

Anyways, here's that portrait. Things are off, forgot to flip the canvas and it just burned into my eye, haha. However, it was fun to do this!

A couple of these sketches and figures are from the head - you'll easily figure out which of them.

The armor study was rather quick so it's pretty bad. I definitely need to work harder.

Some of these studies are incredible. I would recommend you try to create a finished piece. Maybe enter one of the competitions on this site. Keep up the hard work.

phoenicorn: Thank you very much. I guess you're right, I have to take it to the next level. Combining the studies with personal pieces (like in the Crimson Daggers[btw great work, guys!] Competitions) might be a good practice. But my anatomy sucks, I suck at almost everything, haha!

nice studies, digital as well as pencil! I second Ricardo's suggestion, try learning the structure as well(that doesn't mean you have to stop what you are doing, just add it to you studies)and keep going with those anatomy and figure studies. no crits on the digital part, you are handling it nicely

Portrait/Poop out of my head before going to bad, haha! Yeah, I noticed the wrong proportions and perspective on left side of her face, as well as the shiny skintone. But it was quite some fun to do this...gotta do some face studies tomorrow.

Cool stuff man. When you're studying, try to think more about the structure of the thing you're drawing, and how it works in 3d space. I can see you're doing this more and more though, as there's a lot of improvement just since the top of this page. Keep it up!

PieMonster, by structure you mean the basic construction of the object, right? I'll try to concentrate on that and adapt it to my work, thank you.

A couple of studies and a digital doodle that I probably should have spent more time on to catch some details and sense. Though, I didn't want to stave it off.

lovely updates recently. Showing hard work and thats what is important. One thing I would advise is to draw more from life. Working from books often "feels" more productive than it actually is. In my own experience at least I often learn more from working from life in terms of training my eyes and sensitivity to value

Damn, and I thought I was working hard. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened your sketchbook and saw your output. Very motivating and it gives me something to think about and aspire to.

I like how you draw many different things as well, I've been attempting to do this as well.

bish0p2004, I'm definitely not working hard enough. Though, I am preparing my entry for Game Design in Berlin which is due in June. I really appreciate your feedback.
I hope to find away to increase my time/efficiency-ratio.

So yeah, sketchbook crap. My lines still suck and today was a step-back, argh! I'll find my track again tomorrow!
