@Ian Barker:
Thanks, here we go:
I want to do a Warcraft Fanart so I can send a portfolio to guys of the WoW TCG.
I decided for Kil Jaeden, since there are rarely any pictures of him on the web. Only ingame and one or two drawn pics.
And there is no TCG card of him.
Here are some thumbs to begin with.
I'd like to hear your thoughts.
Kil Jaeden is a huge demon lord by the way.
More thumbs.
I'm kinda torn between number 9 and 4.
9 gives a mighty feel and looks quite sinister while 4 has better depth and dynamic.
awesome work mate!!! Well what is better for the character? i guess mighty suits him.

@KingKostas:
Thx a lot, yeah I also think that I'll go for the right mood and somewhat of a scale.
Some more thumbs:
And some more thumbs.
I think I almost got it.
Outlines for Kil Jaeden.
More thumbs.

That is so damn beautiful. Very Fine work sir!
I got some really useful feedback on that last magic card, even though it was fictional, so I HAD to rework it.
Here's the new version.
And some gobbos mtg style: red card: creature: taunting goblin.
Goblin piece is solid ! love the light on their ears !
great updates! last two pieces really stand out!
Sorry for not posting so long.
Here's something new !
A piece I did for the League of Legends digi art contest. Some might have heard about it.
Hey again.
I'd like to get into editorial for my bread and butter income so I'm going to test around with styles and motives.
I know that editorial illustration is often either artsy or simply explaining / conceptual.
Like I said, I'll experiment to find my way.
What do you think about this ?
And another experiment in style for editoral illustration.
This time I went for a specific topic to illustrate instead of "just" a style test.
"US politicians"
Haven't been in here for a while...
I really admire the amount of work you put into thumbnails and planning, I guess that's why your final results are so great.
I like the cut-paper feel of your first editorial experiment, I think it would stand out more than the second one, but it's hard to judge because it doesn't have as strong a subject as the second.

@Clur:
The Nessie-pic IS cut paper, thats why it looks like it.
I also noticed on that one, that it takes just too much time for an editorial work. Maybe I'll try a digital papercut style next time.
But first, here's another take on the US.corruption topic.
Hmmm looking at that last piece again, it's more like "sexy+politics" instead of "prostitue + politics" which would be much closer to the topic of corruption.
I guess I'll think of some more variants...I like the style though.
Love those Kil Jaedens! Especially the thumbnails!
@Ryonok: Thx, for some reson I cannot log in when I'm in your sketchbook.
Here's a 3rd idea for the corruption topic. I think it's clearer then the prostitutes.

Great paintings Mr Waffle! You seem to developing a very strong sense of design. I also really like the fluffy things on the previous page.

Next: Exploring the deep sea.
I was playing around with implementing a medieval illustration style Kraken or Whale, to underline the great unknown down there, but it didnt really fit in.

For some reason the last post removed the posted pic.
Here it is again.
