    Cross-hatching galore!

Ever since I started working toward a degree in mechanical engineering, I've had zero time to sit down and do some actual drawing, so a few months ago I bought a pad of cartridge paper and a pen, so I could doodle on the train, between classes, during classes...

the following is anything notable I have in there

Ah! Brilliant ideas you're coming up with here, I like the hatching too, it has an almost 'olden' feel to it.

Keep up the good work, can't wait to see more

Also, why not check these guys too?

When I looked at your drawings, they blew me away with amazement because I could tell how dedicated you are with hatching and details. The anatomy of people look quite structured, lines of drawings look quite simple yet complicated at same time, and keep it up with a fantastic job.

Well, I'm inspired. For how dark these are they have a real charm to them. Are these ballpoint?

I didn't expect to get positive reactions so soon. Huge thanks to everyone, you've stimulated me to work on these with increased fervour, expect updates soon.

FourTonMantis-the only one in ballpoint is the fourth (sphere, horse guy) the rest is 0.4 pilot.

I can't help but be impressed. That hatching is something that takes patience and a lot of skill and your ink drawings show you have both qualities. I love the woman at the top of your second post. I just think you handled the drapery in an interesting way.

Sick. Never worked with a 0.4, ought to give it a try.

    Hello there,

Absolutely in love with the style of these! Would be great to see some of them pulled out of the paper a little more, make them pop.

    Best wishes,

Here's a study of Anatomy/fabric that turned out kinda cool so I'm posting it.

I'm always looking to improve my methods both in form and rendering, if anyone has a tip I'll be happy to hear.

    something long neglected...

I have zero time to draw nowadays with Thermodynamics, Hydrodynamics and classical Dynamics choking up my schedule...I miss the days when things were nice and static.

Lost my concentration and screwed up the drapery around her thighs, which is infinitely annoying.
I hope it's still salvageable, ink does not forgive mistakes easily..

I am assuming your familiar w/ Edward Gorey,
Amazing style you've got here. I would love to see some color maybe but CHing doesnt always work with color so I suppose you will have to see

Medusoid- Thanks, I am familiar with Edward Gorey, his stuff is outright creepy..definitely my kind of art. I've never seen cross-hatching in colour, it sounds twice as difficult to blend both colours and texture, for now I'm looking to improve my grayscale.

Nonplussed- Thanks! Some of my stuff is preplanned, some tends to change as I go along.

Finals are finally over so I have some time on my hands. Here's a sort of anatomy study of various diseases.
