All comments and crits are strongly encouraged. I'm working on getting better at rendering anatomy and making backgrounds that aren't solid colors. I would also like to make my paintings more interesting. I'm still trying to figure out what that means.
A bit about me: I love conceptart, and have been a lurker for years. My friend has been hassling me to make one of these things for a while, so here I am. I'm 23 and an art major at a big university in Maryland. The art school is pretty awful and is more focused on contemporary abstract art. In a perfect world, I would have gone to SVA, Ringling or SCAD. That stuff costs money, though...
I've been drawing for about 9 years. I started doing digital drawings and paintings about 5 years ago when I was in the prime of my "I love anime" phase. I got off that and started liking American comics when I was a senior in high school. I draw a lot of portraits and I have a webcomic I'll probably show you guys at some point (or you could just click my sig).
My favorite artists are Marko Djurdjevic, James Jean, and Alex Maleev.
I'll be dumping paintings and sketches in here periodically... All crits and comments are welcome.
My realistic goal is to spend more time on my work. I want to see how something would look if I put in 30+ hours into it. My lofty goal is to paint covers for Marvel, DC or Image... any of the big comic companies. I'd also love to do illustrations for one of those geeky RPG or video game places.
