Been awhile since I have heard from anyone, of course a lot of that is my own fault by not posting regularly. I order some new Books, Here is a list, feel free to discuss, they should be in some time in the next 7 days.

Fantasy Creatures: The Ultimate Guide to Mastering Digital Painting Techniques (ImagineFX)
Sci-Fi: The Ultimate Guide to Mastering Digital Painting Techniques (ImagineFX)
Beginner's Guide to Digital Painting in Photoshop by Nykolai Aleksander, et al
Light for Visual Artists: Understanding & Using Light in Art & Design by Richard Yot
Color and Light: A Guide for the Realist Painter by James Gurney
Drawing the Human Head by Burne Hogarth

The first two looked like good books, as far as to look at and gather thoughts and ideas not expecting a whole lot of direction from them, beginners guide to Digi Painting looked like a great all around tool, the two on light I am really looking forward to because that is were I feel I am weakest and I heard great things about the one by Gurney. And another Hogarth book because I love my Dynamic Anatomy, and I know it is still helping me improve, some day I hope to get his figure drawing book as well.

Well here is my latest, I rushed the posterior, or more fitting did no complete it, but felt like it was best to include it any way.

    Thanks for stopping by Joe.
My books came in Saturday I have read both the ones on light, I think they will help a lot, I have started reading the beginners guide to Digital painting, seems like a few good thoughts in there, any time you can get inside thoughts on how and why people create there art seems to help. I really wanted to play around with digital painting this week and apply what I have read, but I've been running a fever, great for staying home and reading, but hard to concentrate on painting, I did do some drawing so I posted them.

With the Light test I have to give thanks to Lakai, Cerasela, and last but not least Nerferinn for putting up with my constant request for crits.

Hey Lakai thanks for the post, I did not I am bad about starting out and using opaque at 70%, I have been working on speed painting Studies this week, as you know, but on them I have started fill bucketing the base value or, middle value and then blocking in around 90% opique and it has been helping, though I might as well do 100%,.. I will aplly your help to the rest of my studies this week, thanks.

K so I got 60 arms this week, I started playing with oil painting, I done a Yumbry color wheel, really didn't turn out that good so I am not going to post it, I lost control as I went into the grey middle, more or less a green explosion not real green but definitely not grey :o. but I practiced skin tones, with a few arms, I painted it on the canvas I rinsed with turpentine, after my first attempt at oil painting was a wash, pun intended.

    Hello!! : )
nice job on the arm studies!! (and the other head studies etc! )
yeah, my first time doing oil painting didn't go well : (
though I was told that you were not suppose to use white for lighter colors
for example to show a brighter surface of red it normally tends to become orange
(but I'm not very good at oils so >"< better check with someone who's more pro at it)
I see a lot of improvement! : ) go go go!!

I used a water washed acrylic to do the underpainting realy like how much easier it was to cover the canvas.
