i'm looking to go into animation myself, and from what i found, it's one of the most expensive programs to go into; in fact art school in general seems to just be insanely expensive. I may be wrong, but i think the question you asked was kind of a paradox, i think your best bet would be figure out which school you like what comes out of it the most, find the school that is in an area you can live in, and be prepared to live the rest of your life in debt. but you should come out of it, at or near an animator, so that should bring you some joy in between meals of PBJ and ramen.
i'm not sure if this is really the only option, but it does seem to be the most common.
Fudge this AWESOME place!!!
My SKETCHBOOK: please critique! i can take it!
To limit one's maximum knowledge is to maximize one's limits.
Sanity is wasted on the boring.
The only place I've heard of that is pretty inexpensive and has a pretty decent rep is http://www.animationmentor.com/
It's an online "school" thoughI'm not sure if they are actually credited, but do a LOT of research on it, that goes for ANY "art" school, online or not.
here's more info on it

Good luck!![]()
San Jose State University is probably the only accredited school with a strong animation program and a low tuition. However, their are schools with high tuition that give out generous financial aid, meaning that, if you're good enough, out of pocket expenses should be manageable. SCAD, CCA, and (I think) SVA come to mind.
