good that you're trying out people! for heads I found Andrew Loomis' "Fun with a Pencil" to be very helpful. Is that a Rayquaza?

Ahhh! People keep getting younger and younger on here.
Brilliant show of dedication, at your age I was shoving pictures of anime into the faces of long suffering friends yelling "LOL, WAT DO U THINK????"
You're showing remarkable maturity by studying and I have the feeling if you keep up the pace and listen to the amazing advice of some people here you'll be bloody brilliant in a few years.

So, *cracks knuckles* Lets see what we have so far.

The good: First thing I noticed was the way you use colour, and I love it! Do you know of colourlovers.com? the way you were picking pallets of colours reminded me of it, they have some great combinations and if you don't know of them already, what you see might give you some inspiration
    http://www.colourlovers.com/palettes there's a link.

Another thing I like is your studies, always good to see that, you're seriously good at bodies *human or otherwise* so good work!

Now, I like how you draw eyes, keep remembering that there's roughly an eye distance between eyes though. I'd say you've drawn some eyes too close together/lopsided.
Don't worry, at your age I didn't even draw two eyes!
Just telling you so you can <i>'keep an eye on it'</i> in future.

You're also drawing mouths a tad too big and too wide. Next time you're drawing from a photo, or even looking in the mirror just take a moment to look at the distance between features and how they relate to eachother in size.

Really good progress you're doing mate, hope to see more of you soon!
    Take a look? - Sketchbook -

Also, why not check these guys too?

what I like in those last few creatures is how solid they are. As in you can really feel the forms. Is the last creature aquatic? I imagine it that way because it seems like the rear legs can't support weight.

keep up the people and good luck for your exams.

Hey! Thanks for commenting on my sketchbook! Only 14? That's insane! Haha, you have so much potential. Your have a great sense of anatomy and your animals have so much life to them. Your watercolor paintings are looking good as well. The only thing I would suggest for the portraits is to push your values more. Add dark darks and light lights, etc. Keep on studying! You'll go very far!

Thanks for commenting on my sketchbook. I would have to say I agree with what others have said in your sketchbook. You are pretty advanced for someone your age. The way you draw animals is great. I think your weakness right now is drawing people but I can see you are working on that. I know I wasn't this good when I was 14. Keep up the hard work.

I don't think i'm actually remembering these studies LOL
just copying like a human xerox machine

do you think the best way to remember your studies is to draw something then draw it again from memory?

    Awesome ;_;

Try to focus on proportions, your faces are sometimes wrong with this, or DO you want to create this look?

    Keep the studies up! Sil

have I ever told you I love your lines? because I do.
I see you sort of share my weakness (but it's not as bad as mine) at proportions. Like Sil said do make an effort to check that the underlying drawing is sound before you move on to rendering.

as for studies, for anatomy it helps me if I feel the corresponding muscles/joints/whatever in my body while I am reading. (Yeah I'm a lazy bum and don't even bother to draw sometimes.) Just put down the book and use one hand to feel, for example, how your deltoid muscle changes when you lift your arm. Feel where it connects to your body, how it changes and connects to other muscles and bones when you move your arm around.

This might get you weird looks if you are reading the anatomy book in a public library.
