    iSuck

How to be an original marketing branding guru in the modern world.
    step 1.
Take a product, put a lower case i infront of the word. you're done.

some of the more stupid ones I've seen. (feel free to add)
All of course have nothing to do with the Apple technology brand.
And when will it stop. Whats wrong with people?

    iSnack - vegemite container
    iQuad - a quad bike
    iGuitar - Guitar shop
    iKids - Kids Clothes
iGoogle - most surprising, given their marketing has been amazing so far without following trend.

Nothing is wrong with people. They are simply using a success-proven new branding trender to boost their sales. It might not be smart, fair and original --but it works. We have had several other examples of this in the past. People stick with what works, for the most part. Masses do one safer, as they say.

Would you rather run a updated (branding-wise) business, or walk the long distance and simply be different, with a unstable income and lovely mouths to feed? Don't take me wrong, I don't support the adherence of the "iProduct" trend. But I understand it.

e-names were way too common as well, although these places normally had something to do with internet and the magical email and the ever present e for explorer, which was relatively new, like eTravel, wow online travel agency. Now its the most normal thing in the world.

apart from brand copying, my brother and I also got a laugh out of how many companies copied Play station. At the end of their ads they would whisper "play station" then sudenly every other TV advert copied it. so at the end of a Maggi noodles ad, they whisper "maggi". What!!!!

Eh. During the turn of the 19th to the 20th Centuries, everything was "electric" -- even things that weren't even remotely electric, like hernia trusses. Then in the '50s, everything was atomic. People don't change much. Particularly people trying to sell you something.
I was once on the receiving end of a critique so savagely nasty, I marched straight out of class to the office and changed my major (sketchbook).
