    youre a drawing machine! ^^

on the last studies, you could add bigger/more reflections to those eyes, it should bump them up a lot (making them more 3d/ballish) and there for more realistic and alive. also a good idea to play with the iris... darker on the inner and outer edges, lighter in the middle (also darker on top of the iris, lighter in the bottom due to the shadow from upper eyelid) look around at a few examples and study the shadows/highlights and reflections http://www.bostonherald.com/blogs/sp...bionic-eye.jpg)
otherwise, good stuff, keep it up!

    Hi there Aks9

Looks like you have a super motivation. It's good that you set your self goals and have a game plan to achieve it. As an addition to anatomy studies, I'd suggest to do more life studies and a lot of self portraits. They help you to draw what you see, which also helps you to draw more from imagination too.

    Keep the studies coming!

    wohoo page 2!
equilerex thanks for the pointers on the eyes, especially about making them more 3dimensional. Most of them do have a slight shadow for the eyelid though, I had learnt about that. Maybe I didn't make it pronounced enough.
I'll include a study of that eye ref soon
myllys thanks a lot for the advice. I really should do more life. Doing self portraits was part of my plan of focusing on faces this month, thanks again for the suggestion

Great studies! Your lines are quite fluid and you seem to have a good feeling for form. I think the thing that you need to focus on are good proportions. Keep it up.

Hey! You have very nice studies here and you sure are improving. Your latest poses look great, and I like a lot some perspective stuff that you did like the tanks. It is nice that you are so organized in your study. I should do more studies myself.

I saw the part were you say above "And I really wish I could comment each image inline, instead of having them all miles away down at the attachment section". You can do that, above the text area, press the button with the clip ("attachments") and by choosing one it appears as text in the text area and you can put it in between the lines of your text. I hope this helps!

Oh! Something I just noticed about the naked girl is when you're doing a body with skin on, keep in mind the masses inside that give it it's shape ex. ribcage, pelvis etc. Some parts give little shapes to the form of the body that make it feel more realistic and curvy when drawn. Also in this particular one you're missing the 3/4 view of the nose witch looks good in all the other studies. Keep up the good work!

LotusFleur: Oh wow, thanks a lot for the tip about the attachments! Just what I wanted. I'll try and keep in mind your advice, and also I can't believe I hadn't actually noticed her nose. I guess I was too busy noticing her wonky eyes. Thanks a lot!
Boywanda, hunter_info Thanks a lot! It's great to hear people say I'm improving. I'll be at your sbs soon. I'm not beginning drawing, but this is the first time I've started learning it consciously and learning anatomy especially.

So two small pages of faces for today.. should have done more

Mush Pon thanks a lot.. been practicing drawing seriously since about a year before I opened this sketchbook, perhaps a bit earlier. but ive liked drawing since i was a kid. i stopped for a few years, interestingly those were some of the "worse" years in my life and its funny to think that drawing would have helped me personally during that time

im starting to see how the way one approaches drawing and how one feels about it can/does also carry over into ones own life (and vice versa?)
drawing wouldnt be an art if not would it? thered be no expression in it

then again the same could be said for engineer type people

    so maybe im wrong

must be a universal life-creativity kinda principal, not gonna spoil the sb with barble though

this is all for today. started to try cg painting the eye that equilerex posted, its sooo hard : /

About the eye, it seems to me that you've got the shape right (I can't be sure though cause I can't see the final step and the photo side to side). Be careful of you contours, ex. at your piece the upper eyelid blends with the iris whereas at the photo there is clear distinction. Also to blend better different tones using the alt key as you draw and handpicking color from spots and passing over with opacity will help. Waiting to see more!

BlackheartK thank you working hard is something im trying to learn
LotusFleur Thanks for the tip! I'll see if I can try blending that way. what I was doing was alt-grabbing the colour between a brushes "fade-out" area and the colour undearneath it, and using that. thanks a lot

i have to dedicate my time to an animation im doing for a contest next month, so I won't be able to draw as much. I'm going to just fill in 1 page a day to keep it going, and the rest of my time goes into drawing for the animation

Great job sticking to the frequent updates and drawing tons! Nice perspective studies on the last page (though vanishing points are pretty close to each other causing weird ankles) but what I really like are the Posemaniacs studies! Great lines and one can tell you were focusing on the forms. Seems like you've been sketching more from your imagination recently. It's good to train that too and reinforce what you've learned from your studies but the studies are what pushes you forward IMHO. Keep them coming!

Smuli aye, imagination more recently. I feel like drawing from imagination is also a form of training. It's an exporation that requires practice - observation and imagination both deserve equal practice imho. And I got some obv to upload today

Hay man! when I take a look into your SB it's like my SB a little bit. We have good ideas and studies, but the heads need a lot more work! I'm not sure what you use as a resource for learning the head and the only tip i can give is to look a bit around for different head construction techniques and try them all. Maybe you find or can create your personal one!

    Keep it up,
    Flo
