organic mechanic - saku's sb (texture week!)

Hello, and welcome to my sketchbook!

    A little bit about myself:
I'm 21-year-old guy from Finland. I pretty much started to really practice drawing only less than a year ago. I'm trying to become better at art and get to study architecture in uni next year, so any and all critique is most appreciated!

architecture, i suggest you look into perspective, buildings, industrial design maybe measurement drawings. as for your anatomy, it needs alot, but i would say consentrate on landscapes and enviroments stuff like that might help more. try speedpainting on photoshop
I hope to be the best i can be... nothing less

Thanks for the advice I'm planning on moving to enviros next.

Okay, little more anatomy stuff - a bit looser this time. Oh man my shadings suck. Some hands and feet, my own feet and doodle:

Okay here's what I'm been up to - trying to figure out how shadows work. Some orthographical and some in perspective. These are from Francis D.K Ching's "Architectural Graphics". Having some trouble, mistakes at least in fifth and sixth pic.

Ah, nice start you have here.
I quite like the perspective studies, and the torsos you did up there.

I have no input when it comes to landscapes and the like but I'd say when you're doing figure studies it's good to know more about what lies under the skin, so looking up anatomy is good, I have an anatomy book myself called 'pocket anatomy' by Christopher Joseph, it's really handy to have.

And another thing that's good for figures is self portraits (which I see you've done) and of course, Loomis. If you google loomis you're bound to come across his books which are brilliant.

    Keep up the good work!

Thanks for dropping by Naidy! And thanks for advice. I actually have some loomis books in my laptop, gotta check them out some day.

Here's watercolor piece I did this day, shitty picture thought. Size A3.

You're getting better every time you post, keep working on your anatomy and shading, anatomy is one of the most used things in art. Other than that keep up the great work.

    But anyway thanks Icedearth15876!

Heres some small photos from the trip and one thing I drew for a course I'm on now, the assignment was to draw 5 things and/or places that have affected me somehow.

Small update. On assignment on the course in limited time, large object approaches floating houses and kids rush to window to see what's happening. Not too pleased with the outcome... More stuff coming soon after I finish my preliminary assignments for the architecture school.

Been drawing and painting a lot this weekend o/ All these made in two days on the course. Made on given task and time between 30min - 3h. No energy to shoot these properly and put here... Edit: btw, those aren't vaginas in the down-left corner althought it might seem so in this pic...

    Texture week day 1

Oh yeah, it's time for a week of textures. For a week I try to update studies of different materials every day. Quality might (=will) be shitty, but the point is to get productive on daily basis. Day 1: Stone.
