Some study stuff from the last 2 months...
Some bodies, mostly from ref, some from mind.
More stuff...some studies from life.
Good work here, your anatomy seems very solid to me. On a side note, great hair, which is and always has been a problem for me. Hope to see more from you, take care.
Thank you G_U_T_S!
New doodles...from ref
...and some without ref...gosh I suck <.<
Hey, thanks for the comments on my SB! You got some great work here! Just keep going like this and you will improve lots!
Really great anatomy studies here. Are you just working from photo's or have you got any anatomical books like George B Bridgman's stuff?
They helped me loads so I recommend buying a few of his books. There really cheap too which is cool.
~oO My new website! Oo~

Kidult thank you for taking time to visit my SB *_*
Stew9 atm I am studying on Loomis....copying the lessons and applying them to my sketches, both from ref and mind. From mind is still quite hard for me, but I hope to improve by exercising. Later when I will be a little more confident maybe I will have a look at other books, but right now I think it would just give me too much confusion.
So this is what I made yesterday...before the daaaaamn hot weather KOed me XD
Some shoe studies just for the sake of it and more bodies.
I need to do more gesture sketches I think...I keep drawing bodies, details, and i dont catch the gesture essence... *mumble mumble*
Nice gesture in the latter posts. Your female figures are very solid, I especially enjoyed these posts:: (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1279179920, http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1279179891), very fluid.
I would recommend for you to practice males, you seem to draw them quite sparsely. Also, watch the foearms of your figures, sometimes they taper too much, and are too thin or short. I'd also suggest practicing different types of faces, don't get too used to drawing the same model-esque features.
Anyway, I'm loving this sketchbook so far! Hope my advice helped a bit. Good luck and work hard![]()
sweet stuff, very solid
and your line weights are nice and crisp.. saving a few of these for further studies ^^
Okay, I am still alive.
The weather has been terribly hot, I was not brave enough to scan and risk to melt O.o
But I am sketching, so update will arrive soon ^_^
zzyzx you are totally right...actually, I never draw men. The few guys you see here and there are the few ones I started to draw LOL.
I will try to be a good girl and draw more boys ^_^
Ty about the crit on foreharms, I will try to keep an eye on it
equilerex omg save MY poor sketches? *_* thank you
Small update. Can't really stand too much time at the pc scanning. Gotta love this summer hell O.o
Body gestures...all from refs.
Very nice start. It seems to me that you have patience and keen eyes for observation. I can only repeat the advise of grabing some of the Bridgman books to learn the bones and the muscle groups. The sheer quantity of your work is also admirable, keep it up!
pixel cheetah thank youatm I am studying on Loomis and try to have the ideas clear about it, then I would move to other teachers. I dunno if it's a good idea or not, but I am afraid of reading too much all togheter and make mess (thing that I made since now lol)
A little update from the past week. I am totally not good at digital painting I think, and I first have to learn values and such; but the weather was so hot, I could just lay down and doodle on my Nintendo DS.
This is the result XD
AliceA great start to your sb! Keep up on your gesture drawings to tighten up your proportions. Anatomy will help you too with your drawing from imagination work too. I also fancy myself a female figure enthusiast and love to see your females. You have good line sensitivity and you capture a lot of the form well. The only thing that popped out to me was how similar the facial features were. Lots of the same shaped lips and eyes in the first few posts. Try drawing different ethnicities and get the likeness of the girl as close as you can get. It is something I need to do more as well but it's an assignment that Jason Manley gives to some of his students and I think it would help you outLook forward to seeing more.
Ninjac many thanks for stopping by my SB! Yes I think you are right, I always draw the same face with slight modify here and there ^_^
And thank you for the tip! I am gonna search some different faces pics to start with, before going wild with imagination; I probably need to build up my own visual library... well, good luck to me![]()
Great sketchbook, your sketches have alot of grace.
Now nail down the digital painting techniques and you'll get there, cheers girl.
Hi, Your pencils look really controlled. When you get going with the digi paint I can see some awesome stuff happening. Good figure studies. Looking forward to more.
You defiantly have a cool style going. Keep up with the figure practice and you'll continue to improve. The digital paintings need some work but you'll pick it up in time. Check out some videos on digital painting and some of the classes that CA offers, they really help a lot.
Wowsers!So many comments ^^
Icecold honoured to have you here...and thank you for your comment!
Spire thanks!!
The Original [E] thanks!! Atm I am focused on figure study and I will keep the digi painting stuff for later; but at night, when I can't have a light (or mosquitos will eat me alive O.o) it's nice to scribble on the Nintendo :p
Some night fun. Not ref of course. Odd figures.
thanks for the comment! you seem to always update your sketchbook around the same time i do, lol.
p.s. try to stick to black&white for digital for now. color theory is difficult, confusing business, just try to get values for now.![]()
zzyzx lol yes. I think you update at night, while I do it in the morning :p
Yes values is already quite difficult for me now, colors will come later ^^
hey! nice sb so far. really digg the faces and hair. if you just started painting digitally i suggest to try a few different programs (photoshop, painter, artrage etc..) and become familiar with them (learn the main keyboard shortcuts etc..). also try out different painting techniques, some people just block-in shapes (silhouette) and others start with a scribble or line-drawing. keep it coming

Eric-Anthony thanks! I am not totally new to digital painting...I experimented many programs and brushes and all that fun. But I relized that I miss the basic knowledge (proportions values color theory) so I moved back to the study XD
Btw here are some of my old digis...just for the sake of it. I know they have a LOT of mistakes ^^
these look good, the folds are real nicely done! i really like the head cover on the last one... well, the whole piece is real good tbh. how many hours did you put in these if you dont mind me asking?
kewl stuff. keep it up with the figures studies. right now they're looking kind of stiff and a little lopsided sometimes, but some of them are looking really great. good luck with the digis
I like the value studies a bit further up. They have a nice painterly feel. I think they're uploaded kinda big though, they're stretching my page a bit and that makes it hard to see the overrall picture. D: Anyway keep up the great work! Studies studies studies![]()
