You just CAN'T have a thread full of youtube artists without Sycra. Let me just toss his channel in here:
http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=Sycra#g/u
His "how to draw" stuff isn't as numerous as his "just drawing" stuff, but the "how to" stuff is good when it comes along.

No, but people are always welcome to add to the list if they have them, 22k views and only a couple people have posted some >.>

I'm new here but I've seen some really good tutorials around DA. I'll link a bunch of probably Saturday night.
On another note, my computer pukes and dies when Youtube (or anything else with video) is even mentioned. Could more non video links be posted? Also any really good links on muscle structure, skeletal structure, and gender differences would be very much appreciated.

This is an expressions tutorial. Its got a lot of good tips on emotive expressions, and stuff to avoid. Its drawn with cats, but the information in it can be used on any character.

Not a really detailed tutorial, but it does go over the basic proportions, rythm, balance, weight distribution, and silhouettes. Good for the beginner (although there is nothing on construction so there are precursors expected) and anyone else who wants a quick brush up on basic figure drawing guidelines.

Heres one on portrait drawing. I disagree with the first part about holding the pencil, but to each his own I guess. This is chock full of tips on getting good portraits. Covers shading, layering, tones, and some tips and tricks to get a better portrait.

Another good beginners tutorial on figure drawing. It goes over proportions, the head and face, and some simplified muscle structure. Also touches on gesture drawing.

An excellent tutorial series (three parts) on character design. This focuses on the story aspect, and not really the visual side, but they are just so nice, and anyone doing anything with a storyline will love these. The ridiculous amount of detail he goes into with these is amazing. If you ever need to write a plot, use these for creating your character.
I wanted to put up a couple on the visual aspects of creating a character, but none of the ones I found went into any detail. If I find any more I'll make sure to post them.
thanks a bunch

Hi....new to the forum..
Thanks for putting this together.
Excuse the language and profanity but....
Godamn this is a sexy thread! FAVORITED!!!Hardcore style!
Ty very much for taking the time to post this.![]()
I've been on and off CA.org, and its earlier incarnations, for years. Once upon a time, I marveled Feng Zhu's posts, then followed to his site. I learned, there, of the technique of using Prismacolor markers, pen, and guache. I bought some markers, tried some stuff on bad paper, and then became distracted.
Years passed. I still have some of those markers, have purchased some since, and finally have a good set of pens again. I also have marker paper, for the first time. Now, I'd like to start with similar tutorials. I contacted Feng Zhu Design to see if the old tutorials were still available somewhere, but, no, they aren't.
Are there any similar tutorials listed in any of those linked, or elsewhere? I've been searching here, using the search function, but it's very hard to narrow hundreds of results to a search on "marker tutorial" when many of the results seem not to have anything to do with that topic.
I'll keep looking, of course, but if anyone knows of comparable tutorials (other than Doug Chiang's also-old tutorial). Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Daniel
thanks guys, can't help you srry Mur
