Couple of photo figure studies. Experimented a bit with trying to paint across the form on the second one. Not sure how well that even works very well in digital... Or if I'm just a noob at it. But it turned into a pretty nice effect, I guess.

I think it worked quite well. Maybe the mid tones are a bit on the dark side, but it's given her a lot more life than the first one, whose head is floating above her shoulders.

Well, yes. The photo ref was probably pretty heavily edited, so perhaps the values aren't very natural... But I mostly copied it because I liked the well defined muscles in it. And yeah, I can see how it looks that way with the head on the other one.

Some more work on the space ship painting...



And I also started reworking an old picture... Because I still kind of like it but it was too old to fit in my portfolio at this point.

Another update on the space ship captain... I'm feeling mostly done with it at this point, but I got some crits from Donato that I'm gonna try to implement.

Hi matey

Love the girl and the spaceships that is really very good, but the last one with the magic 1980's shoulder pads of flight needs a rework I think, sorry mate but they just look weird! which is ok if thats what you were going for but if not you might want to think again. As usual this is just my opinion on the concept so far and I am quite prepared to make a groveling appology if I am talking crap (which happens more often than not!).

Thanks. Well, I guess I was going for something Dragonball-ish. Wanted to make him look like he was straight out of Flash Gordon or something.
