ThomasM: Aww thanks so much, and for the rating! Very nice of you

The livestream was a success! Thanks to all who joined and watched me draw, and listen to Jasper and later John Silva (His SB). Tomorrow JASPER, the man himself, will be drawing and painting, hopefully around 7AM EST again. Here's some drawings from the stream, they're digital, since I can't record myself drawing in pencil on the stream.

Thanks for the tips about the HSB slider--I'll try that out!

Man, I'm going to have to go back and watch some of these streams on archive--these figures look great. I'm loving the lines you used--they have an energetic quality about them, despite being clean and deliberate-looking. Were you drawing from imagination or reference?

Really, really been neglecting this thread. After a very unproductive summer, I'm back here. Hopefully posting a bit more, but right now I'm enrolled at SVA in their Illustration program. I'm really struggling with my personal voice as an artist and, even though I do so many drawings and studies, often wonder what they'll lead to. Hopefully I'll find out soon. Right now I'm just focusing on drawing, but I'm also trying to make up for lost time. Here are some very recent drawings, starting to loosen up again an get back to it. Many are from photos, but a fair amount of them are also from life, drawn during class. Hope you all like!

Here's another update, mostly just sketches/artist copies. Really trying to focus on memorizing stuff, so I've omitted a lot of pages where I just drew the same thing over and over again. Most of this is random junk, but the cleaner drawings at the end are from a book seminar class here at SVA. Really trying to focus on drawing this first year, and not paint if I don't have to. Problem is, I've been having some sincere trouble actually finalizing my work. Not that I'm lazy, I mean I don't know how to finish a piece without painting it in a representational way, which I don't want to do right now. Anyone have and tips or advice, or maybe know of artists who focus solely on line/graphic elements to make a work look finished? I'd greatly appreciate any input!

Also, sorry for the crappy phone pics. I'm trapped here in Albany while I wait for the power in my Manhattan apartment to come back on...oh Sandy...luckily we weren't flooded!

    Best wishes everyone!

How do you keep your lines so clean, you must take muscle relaxants to steady your hands or something.

Man, you are maniac! And I want to draw like you, such splendid works, especially heads, I will use them as sacred references if you don't mind. And I've read that you want your works to look finished without coloring them. Look at Herluf Bidstrup works,he is amazing without color.
