No crits right now, just keep it up! One thing I suggest you try doing more is hatching. Follow the form with the pencil marks. I think this guy is a good example.

@L-J-U : No worries, and thank you for your comment

@Fighting Seraph : Thank you for your comment!

@SenEnd : Thanks for your advice but I'm just still not sure what does it mean by hatching.. is it similar with sketching? that we need to create a value with a pencil line?
nice link you give me there. =)

I suggest just painting with color without ref even if your not to good at it, you get better trust me =)

And with the hatching I see you doing it in the lemur study, make your marks follow the form your painting basically.

    keep it up!

Those 2 day pencils I think are worth it to really understand value. Some of the anatomy could be laid out a bit better, like the woman's feet on the first image, but your rendering shows patience and some real focus.

Cool works, Last one seems like a cool exercise. Be careful though, don't forget to develop your 3d sense, it's a really important thing. It seems like all your works are from photos. Maybe I'm wrong, though.
Anyway, good progress! keep it up!

@Abrodos : Hey, thanks for dropping by to my sketchbook, and I really like your advice there, and I tried it since last night and here's what I've got.

    I've drawn my water bottle

    and my own hand

I can say that drawing skin colour in normal condition of light is hard, the lighting makes the skin tone pretty unusual rather then in photo studio

    anyway.. comments and crits apreciated

    Another Memory Practice

and now it's a human face.. and it's really really harder then memorising a horse

I can only get this far

need to do more memorise practice, and it's pretty far from the one that I did with photo reference

any comment and crits welcome =)

Hi Aldo, nice start here. My only suggestion would be to study anatomy. If you want to become good at painting you should also know about the bone structure, muscles and form. These are all steps needed to become great Keep it going.

Hi Ivan, thanks for your comment and advice.. I loved to do some study about anatomy, and actually i already learnt it for quite a while, but I never get into it seriously. Do you have any reference or video or any sources where we can learn a solid anatomy study?

    Hello

I like the water bottle most, but I wonder if it's from photo ref or real life. Either way you're good.

Try to paint from real life if you want to become great. Because photo references are already 2D, and it makes them easier to reproduce. Just a thought. But I'm a beginner, and if I'm wrong, you can ignore me.

Yea, I think you are right about it, drawing the real life is much harder, but it's totally fun even sometimes we can't get the correct colour and proportion.
for my water bottle I did it real life, and I'm pretty happy with the result. thanks for your comment Gordebak! =)
