    recent paint dump

Hey fellas, seems like I don't get the chance to post as often as I'd like these days...between work and a bit of freelancing it seems my time just slips away...but here are a few new ones from the hard drive. Also a couple digital figure digital figure studies for good measure. Hope you dig and you are all doing great!

    cheers!

Just damn......I mean supurlative of course. Sorry But I am a sculpter, is this done on the computer? { Kinda' challenged here when comes to computer}. It is really great, your lighting is wonderful. And she made me sad, she is beautiful even if she is scarred. Her black eyes are great. 2nd pic.
    You are good.

Really nice work Mandryk! I love the way you handle the complexities of detail, composition and atmospheric perspective. You use light really well, (those nude studies are solid) and you know when to leave details unfinished or let them fade/blend into the background which is something I am still trying to learn. Keep posting more for us!

The women's bodies are really solid. The masses of colors shows well the attitude of the flesh due to position. Keep it up man!

    So nice.
You render the human form and skin tones really well. Obviously, that leads to some amazing results.

    Hey man, great stuff!

First piece, something strange around the pelvis area of the human.. I can't see how the figure would work once you'd remove the robot head, know what I mean? And I agree with vertebra about the Conan pose being bit awkward, or strained.

    But other than that, beautiful!

Hey guys, thanks so much for the feedback, and I really appreciate those crits! It's important to me to keep pushing myself, so every little bit helps.

Mah ' Crub; yes these are 100% digital, done in photoshop.

My good sir I don't know why but your art is just talking to me in my sleep whispering "draw draw draw!" " become good like that"

I wish you had more tutorials, I walked through the one you did for imagineFX and it was a huge help, I really love how your art communicates visually and so clearly, I see exactly what I want to see and I spend some time looking at each of your art pieces which is reaaalllly rare with todays artists.
You are awesome! thanks for the inspiration

    Hey my friend.

That Conan inspired piece is still super rad and one of my faves. I think I see what others are mentioning - the back leg is too far right, perhaps both hips feel as though they are emerging from the same overlapping point in space (gosh I hope that makes sense).

The first image - the figure doesn't necessarily bug me, it just feels like an extreme, comic like pose (although you didn't hide the foot like they often do, nice touch!).

I see by the second portrait there you're pushing even more small frequency patterns over the different materials (skin, cables, shoulder pad) and I think you've got something special there.

If you weren't aware I found this via the CA.org newletter of updates
