Lightbulb [REQUEST] Machinarium art style tutorial !

Recently I got inspired by the game Machinarium's art style. For those who aren't familiar with it: www.machinarium.net

    Original Machinarium screenshot:

Here's a clone art of this style done by someone at conceptart.org
    http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/e...ly_lowres2.jpg

I searched all over the internet for the past 30 days and hav'nt found a thing on how to do this......

How this kind of colouring is acheived...and texturing too.........Can someone direct me to a similar art style tutorial ..or can someone create a small tutorial on how to create a small building from scratch in this style of art......

    Thanks in Advance.....

What's with some of these new members? They show up. BAM! Weird thread pops up in the General Forums. No critique center, no sketchbook.

    EDIT: Oh wait, May?

Anyway, maybe it's just because I haven't been here in a little while.

To the OP, just study the pictures and figure out what the person is doing. It's just a matter of studying how that person colors, and looking carefully if there are textures overlaid.

In the future, keep that kind of behavior to the lounge (though I don't really encourage that either). It's bad enough people are scared away here, just because someone is new you needn't reply and make them feel unwelcome.

Unfortunatelty there is no tutorial for every single drawing style in the world. Creating one is pretty time consuming. I wouldn't expect to get stuff like this on silver platter.

In short it looks to me like scanned pencil drawing filled with flat colors in Photoshop. Then a bit of soft edge airbrush here and there for patches of light and on top of that texture overlays added (look into Photoshop blending modes for layers). Textures taken from various photos, found on the net or maybe painted in some parts with some gritty brushes.
The clone art you posted was probably result of someone experimenting with digital painting software. I suggest to do that too.
