just a few thoughts on your last two posts. (the fruit and the statue, I cant see post #59). Those are onions right? Well, on the left onion on its right edge you made a black line, but that doesnt really make sense to be there since the onion is right beside another onion so the reflected light off onion no.2 would prevent any dark dark shadows being there. Also the shadow on the bottom right of onion number 1 is too dark, not only would there be reflected light off the green grapes but also light that has actually shown through. Of course those effects may or may not be obvious but I think still they should be indicated no matter how subtle. So I think a better place for that dark shadow would be the left side of the onion, it makes sense that the shadow of a sphere is the opposite side of the light side.
Onto the statue dude! My main concerns with it are the use of texture and light. Im not very good myself with texture so I cant really pin down the reason I think the texture is offI know, so helpful right? haha. I think its that the light source is fairly low, like its a cloudy day, although the shadows are quite dark. Generally if the light isnt strong not much texture will show up, and if it does it could by because the actual texture of the object is quite deep. Like think of the difference between a bump in a golf ball and a rocky surface. So if you were to increase the light in your picture to show off the texture, remember that the area where the texture shows most is the areas between the lightest and darkest parts.
Sorry for the book, Im just in that mood I guess haha. Hope I didnt just say a load of stuff you already know.
