psychobud - cheers bro.
right now i'm actually going to bead, can stop painting!
I lied, still looked a little shite, now im actually done.
Seems like you're taking the painter's approach and going for volumes/silhouettes... which is good... it's a good way to go.
Have you ever tried the tumbling cube exercise? It's a great way to start seeing "into the page"... seeing depth on a flat surface.
You need that sense in order to get the silhouettes to read properly as volumes... stray "volumes" that have strange edges that wouldn't make sense in perspective can flatten out that 3D sense.
Does that make sense?
For starters, try to just draw a box... with no interior lines... just the edges of the outside. Make sure it looks "right" when you flip it horizontally... eg it looks right in perspective. Then put a box next to it, on the same ground plane.
Excellent, excellent exercise for learning depth. Your silhouettes will benefit.
Then you just make silhouettes and paint 'em up.

ignore that last piece, it's awful. Some stuff.
Hey man! I just saw your paintover in the EOW topic, i think it was great to see your point on that painting. So, about your stuff, i agree with that about your value range, it is also something i'm trying to improve. But anyways, the use of the rim light already made some diference, keep it up.
Caio Chagas - thanks dude, yeah values a tough bastard to crack, but i feel i'm starting to understand it better of recent.
What, traditional drawing? here? YES, the pencils back yo! finally bought Figure Drawing For All It's Worth, after about a year of telling people to buy it i finally lead by example. Man, i could literally sleep with this book it's so sexy!
update on some old sketches and another perspective study. I think i'm starting to enjoy studying... need to get out more, lack of UV is driving me insane!
Peace.
been doing some work.

Some more work
Impressive updates
The chick with no mouth and claw nipples looks god - I'd love to see a finished version of the same character concept.![]()
Undone head - thanks dude!
Nina - that's actually ment to be a female predator. I doubt i'll finish it as it a fan art sketch. She's wearing a mask, probably not very clear tho. Thanks for the input.
Doing an interior environment.... the hard way. Yes i could have done it fast in Sketchup... but i'm being stubborn and want to put my perspective to use. This is gunna be a bloody nightmare to render after! BTW i know it looks like shite at the moment, the drawing itself is like 10 percent done! let alone the rest.
Peace!
Wip sketch
some stuff yo!
nice studies man! i think your rendering and values are good. i would just work on design more, because concepts like the enviro with the white dome doesn't really make sense. the design elements are kinda haphazard and not grounded in reality even though the illustrative treatment is. just my two cents. keep up the good work!
Some good imagination stuff in here. The alien girl with the claws for nipples? Ouch![]()
I like these latest heads as well... especially the 2012.

Hi bud
Sorry I havnt been around in a page or two but I been busy Guv'nor! as they say is foreign parts (Yorkshire!) I had a trawl through again and I liked the painting of the old guy, there was a lot of character in that old face the environments are coming on too.
The thing that strikes me again about trolling through your SB mate is that you have way too many ideas blasting through your head. You crack on and start something and get a long way into it and then shoot off at a tangent as a new idea rattles through your neurons!! lol.
I want to see some highly polished and finished ones in here, get some in the finaly finished section mate, you have the skill go for it, or I am so tellin your Mom!!
ha ha ha
all the very best to you mate as always.

Lightship69 - haha, you have a Yourkshire vibe about you, perhaps it's the kind helpful advice. I've only ever been to Huddersfield, beautiful part of the world. I just keep practicing and never producing anything done. Tha'ts why my portfolio sucks so much lol. I will make an effort to get some thing that represents me better in the near future, having too much fun studying. I can never be bothered to finish anything either your right, that's why i would be an awful illustrator haha. Thanks as always pal!
The gun show, and this weeks EOW.
Im impressed by your improvememt! Really nice! keep up the good work!
Matelo - thanks a lot buddy.
Some crap i've been working on. Snow piece was for the EOW, some werewolves for a game, lorry(truck) study wip, and some pen sketches.
man its a shame you didn't finish your EOW cause I like the concept you got going there
Thanks udon, yeah it's another case of me being captain unfinished. I just call stuff done instead of it being done.
some work and studies
