Shayle is my favourite thing to draw lately. She is my precious pretty princess.
Anyways, went and offered best advice I could. The project looks like it's going off to a good start.
Speaking of projects, working on my first kind of 'story board'. We had to come up with a scenario and the first thing that came to mind was an interogation scene so I went with it. Exciting stuff. I know what I have isn't great, though I have abouuuuut 18 more panels to go? I've got 90% planned out.

    Ooh, storyboards. Sounds fun!

The sketches look pretty good, but I'm trouble following the narrative. It took me a few read-throughs to get a sense of it. More specifically, I lose it at the last panel in the second row. Why is the character turning around, and why is he all dejected in the next panel? It is a mystery. Up until that point, it makes perfect sense, though.

Maybe its just because the drawings are still unfinished?

Oh damn it. Doesn't help that I made all the cast bald(Tutor told us to keep cast bare as most storyboards are done before casting or something)
That guy looking depressed is meant to be the captive you see in the first panel. ...Which I haven't rendered.

I hope it'll have more clarity when I render them. The interogation room has entirely different lighting than the side office thing.
I'm rambling. If it doesn't tell the story propperly then I'm pretty much failing the main reason for story boarding which is a little disheartening.

On the bright side, done two charcoal portraits, two etchings and three prints today. Prints are drying in college.
Anyways. I'll try to fix those panels, hopefully when I actually finish them all it'll make more sense. If not, well, I'm fucked. ha ha.

Edit: Oh! How did I miss two comments?!
Nodeerskulls: Ohhh! You've changed your name, eh? Recognised your avatar straight away though. I'll have to check on your new stuff. Cheers, mate!
Lav: Ahh, you're not missing that much. There's a notable dip in quality from me this past month or two, I need to kick myself out of it and churn out the studies again, I think. Cheers though!

Ach, you guys! You're far, far too kind!
Hu-ha: Oh man, you're making me feel feelings. Haha, I don't really know what to say other than thank you! Just imagine how big this sketchbook will get in another two years. Too big. But hopefully I'll get some decent progress by then.
Lav: Aha, I really can't help myself. If I've been lazy for a while the only way I can get out a rut is by giving myself a good verbal kicking. Always works in the end though. Keep up the good work yourself, mate. You come up with some crazy stuff. Reminds me I ought to check up on your stuff.

Naidy, your last update looks brilliant. The pencilwork also looks top notch. You've got great imagination, a good eye for colours, and a great drive to improve.

The improvement level, for me, is the clincher. I'm giving you five stars, you deserve it.

Trust me, it's a privilege to have a lurker as good as you. The glowing-with-pride-feeling is all mine.

As usual, the pencilwork is top notch. You tend to draw characters that look a bit... elongated, though (and that is probably your style). Anyway, they look very stylish.

The comic page is also looking good, aesthetically. The colour selection is great; you've got this beautiful warm palette that you use very well. Some areas are looking a little muddy, though. Your style requires (I think) you to remain clean (~er, at any rate).

The storytelling is also good, which is more than I can say for most CA comic artists. You've got the whole staccato feeling down to a pat. I also love the way the girl's head looks like a face from behind. Great visual thinking.

Again, great work. And keep updating.

Vritra: Hmm. I often have to stretch out the proportions horribly when I'm doing fashion illustrations. Is it just them that look off? Usually I draw figures too short, you see, so my fashion tutor really has a go at me for that xD
Perhaps the usual stretching I do for fashion drawings has rubbed off on my normal figures. Either way, there's no hiding there's some propportional errors in my stuff. I'll start studying figures again. Hopefully that'll shake the problem off.

And thank you again! I've gone into my comic again and tried to fix up the muddiness. Is it mainly in the last panel where the problem's the most obvious? Either way, I'll keep a look out for where else to clean up and post it again when I'm done. Cheers!

Haha! Hey ShiNIN! We're practically sister icons now with our skulls.
And thank you, the comic's getting there. It's nice to hear such positive stuff about it. I usually a massive coward when it comes to attempting comics, I rarely carry them through. It's good to get out my comfort zone in that aspect.

The last figures drawings are really really good!
Proportions and values are really coming along. I already told you this kind of but I still feel like sometimes your figures seem like they are made out of liquid^^
This is good in the sense that they don't seem stiff but when it looks like your characters are melting off the canvas it's a little too much.
And I know this is a style thing but you often draw eyes too far apart. Most of the time it looks quirky but sometimes it looks awkward. Keep that in mind, especially when you do 3/4 views.

    Keep up the good work!

Xelar: Hey, mate. Your comment gave me a lot to chew over. I had a look over my recent works and I 100% agree with the crits. As far as I figure, this melty look will be because I lack enough understanding in how to construct figures. That's my bet, atleast. And the eyes is definitely from a lack of understanding head structure.

I had a feeling I'd been neglecting studies, but that verified it for me. No trouble, I even bulked up my reffs folder with guys to make the job sweeter for me. Ahaaa.
    Cheers!

I also need to do more hand studies.

I haven't looked through your whole sketchbook, but I've already noticed great improvement, I'll try to return to take a better look at your work! I just wanted to say quickly that I love that birdy comics you done, the colors, the shapes, simply beautiful ^^ I also like the idea of mirrored sketches, not only for the visual effect, but also for the fact that it shows nicely the correctness of drawn characters as they look alright while being flipped ^^

hey naids I couldn't recognize your new avatar at first @_@ good work as always, but I sort of think that your mouths e.g. 1895, 1893-3rd pic are a bit 'off' sometimes? Like they don't sit quite just on the head yet. just a feeling from someone who doesn't know about mouth anatomy either

These are pretty decent. I especially like the painting of the girl. Nice, sensual face. Are you drawing from life? Your faces need a little work, but I'm sure you're perfectly aware of that. Continue to practice and continue to post. Thanks for sharing!

I've been watching you since quite some time, but just today I've registrered myself. So that's why I am writing the first time in your thread.

You've improved quite alot. It was great and interesting to see your progress. I really like how good you've become with the pencil! I will continue to watch you and watching you to improve.

Hey Naidy, great updates. I won't compliment much, because that's already been done by the previous replies (and deservedly so).

Just a small thing you might want to look into - shoulders. Right now they're lacking underlying form/anatomy. Your best works tend to be the ones where you hide it with hair or similar accessories.

It's not a big deal, really, and you're not that far off either. Just look into it a bit.
