Oh, your poor friend. xD My best friend in highschool was afraid of butterflies, though, so sheep aren't quite the weirdest fear a person can have.

    Anyway.

Your faces are looking pretty good, I and I love those landscapes. The expressions in your newspaper illustration are lovely, but the woman on the left doesn't seem to have quite enough shoulder.

    Justas: Hahaha, more like desecrated.

Clur: Yeah, I thought that too. (About the shoulder, I mean) When I was talking to illustration guy, he was all like "Why don't you make them entwine like serpents - or make that guy's head a condom" Saddly, I failed at both hurdles. Tried to make the two figures weirdly close but it just looks like a mistake rather than a style choice. Ah well, I'll do a better job of my next illustration project.

Lav: Haha! Oh, mate. I just painted on top of the photo I took because we don't have a scanner. It was part of an illustration exercise for college. Thanks though!

Seems like faces are a thing that both of us wanna learn! =) Sad fact, I'm to bad to give you some good advices for them now. I just noticed that in some of your latest facedrawings the inner eye in 3/4 views is in the wrong place. Seems like it is to far away from the nose.
But I have to say that you have some very nice thing in the latest update! My favourite is the water colour piece in the first row. Great perspective effect! And those figures at the end of the alley are creepy.
The dynamic of the second drawing in the first row is great too. I like especially the upper part of the body.
And I want to see more of those hand and arm studies! The turn out quiete good! Love the lines of your pencils there.

Keep going and have fun =)

Valya:Aaaaaaaaaaack! Now you've pointed out the eye problem I see it's painfully obvious. Christ, thought I'd gotten out of the habit but I've slipped back in. Good thing you pointed it out. I'll get onto increasing the studies I do. Cheers, mate.

High time I kicked myself back on track. Here are some self portraits (O the second page I just couldn't be bothered to draw a floral dress a billion times over, not naked. Just lazy.)
Arms on the second page and the figure on the first page made up. I think I'm getting better at hands, you know. Thank god, because I wouldn't want to think all those studies are for nothing.
Facial features are still sliding around, and arms are still no good, but I swear I'll figure out how to get over this issue. YEAH.

    Miycko
: Hah hah! Should of learnt to dodge a bullet then. ;D But yes, drew it in person. I wasn't going to miss an opportunity for studies.
hu-ha: Oh hey, you! Cheers for the kind words. And will do!

Edit: Hahah, oh fuck. All the second page are cross eyed. This is what happens when I draw from mirrors.

Mmm, Naidy Those self portraits and pretty much all these pencils are looking scrum-diddly-oumtious! The color work you do is always fun to see what your imagination comes up with, so to hear you also got yourself back on track is great news for everyone I'm sure hahaha. Hope for nothing but the best for so keep on truckin'!

Pervy: Hey, mate. Cheers for the kind words! And Yeah, man. I'm right back in the thick of action. There is going to be study spams and frontal nudity everywhere. PERHAPS EVEN SOME MINOR PROGRESS

CuriousJoe: Amazed anyone wants me to delve more in that area, 'specially considering how BADLY my endeavers usually turn out. Suppose more practice won't hurt me any though. Cheers!

Krysjez: Ah, no one can escape the old studies guilt. Better start spamming them again, mate. Or I'll whinge about it on your sketchbook.

Right; just two observationals and a shit load of quick, frustrated "loosening gestures" from the top of my head before working on illustration and having a massive pizza/cookie feast with my fantastic college comrades. I will never need to eat again. Feel like a bear just before hibernation.

I love how you draw faces, they look really believable and expressive!
There's a lot of improvement as I look at first pages and last ones, seems to me you're totally different person now

You're one of the people that make me want to draw until I'm unconscious, just to get better and better!

I always get confused with educational-system terminology...your 'college' is that 2-year-prep-for-uni thing, right?

I am going to do Bargue #1 so you can whinge if I haven't put anything up showing at least some progress. But actually i wanted to ask a favor - I put up a new WIP of an illo and would really appreciate some help with it. I have no clue how to paint @_@

    Hi,

Love love love this sketchbook. And 18! Fab!
My favourites are the moody female faces, the moving figure sketches. The dead birt studies are also just wonderful!

Clur: Really? I messed it up a right lot. We had some painting session with our illustration guy and you should have seen his. I'll keep practicing with acrylics though, I love how that stuff looks when done right, it'd be a shame to never tackle the medium head on, eh? Anyways, cheers mate!
Ninsei: Och, you're making me all warm and fuzzy inside. I'm glad you feel that way! Nothing's better than progression, I think. Good, luck, mate!
Krysjez: Ah, you know me. I'm never too great at giving advice, but I'll have a look-see if there's any advice I can chuck your way. Cheers!
Jansi: Ah! Cheers, mate! I love drawing figures lately. The bird studies were fun too. I ought to start wrangling in dead birds more often. Who cares what the neighburs think. ;D

Ah, man. You guys are so kind. I AM UNDESERVING. Reminds me I ought to check up on everyone's sketchbooks and return the favour. (and hopefully give out some constructive feedback, if I can, that is)

Also; found this thing that's pretty fun: http://www.generatorland.com/usergenerator.aspx?id=2339 a monster generator. You know you want to have a go on it.

Those self portraits have a lot of character to them.

With your digital stuff, try blocking in colours and key features first, it'll stop the white gaps and so on. Use a big brush at first, then go smaller and smaller as you work to finer detail. It looks messy if you start with a small brush right off the bat.

some real nice pencils right here... loving the gesture and the cleanness of the line in those. quite interested in seeing you do more colour stuff though... just out of interest, what are you using for the digital stuff?

Thought I'd start this post with some VERY BAD pastels. I need to practice with those bad boys more, seriously. I think they are the hardest medium ever. 'Course, it doesn't help if I don't do them refferenced. I'll rectify that next time.

Umbravita: Aha! Thank you, I'm glad they've some character to them. I thought I'd play around whilst I drew them. Most of my selfportraits are done in the eaaarly morning so I always look disheveled. And you're right about the digital painting, I have to admit I already try that, it just doesn't come across because I get to blocking the colour then STRAIGHT into small brushes and it seems I lose it entirely. Or other times I get lazy and just use the pencil setting, I know it looks terrible, I ought to sort myself out and stop that. Cheers for the crits!

Jessibelle: You 18 too, eh? Feels good, doesn't it! ahaha. I'm not using anything that interesting digitally, just what came with my tablet program. Uh, art weaver, I think it's called. I'll try to shove more coloured stuff on here, I used to do paintings in my breaks but it's getting too hectic in college lately to manage. I'll try to rectify this!

Tronrobot: Ahaha! Really? I have to admit that page is all self portraits, incredibly forgiving ones, mind you. I never like to draw myself exactly as I am. Cheers for the kind words anyways!
