Don't worry, that's just a guard being decapitated by a deranged, hairless princess. No heroes were harmed what so ever.

And ah, those two. They're not gay, I wish they were, but that's a completely different matter. They are just bonding. MANLY BONDING. Thain doesn't fair too well with all the heat though.

Anyway, you never do any manly bonding, Lieutenant? You won't build a good relationship with your peers if you do not take them to theatres, spend hours inspecting their faces or take them to the occaisional sauna.

Oh, and I'm going to do some studies tommorow. Too many non-reff self endulgent doodles going on lately.

    Cool stuffs!

Tablets are fun, but they take a bit to get used to.

    Your pencils are looking nice!

    Keep working hard!

Greyskill: Aye, true stuff. I've been takin' the opportunity to scribble with it whenever the urge calls. Hopefully I'll be getting the hang of it eventually, eh?
Wasabi: Cheers, mate! I do love messing around with pencils. I'm trying to step out onto other things too, though. Spent too long with one medium.

Only a wee sketch here, but I'll be tagging on other stuff when I finish them if no one replies before then.

Well, mate. You asked for it!

Oh! And the hands are digital allright. I just sat and drew my hand with the 'acrylic' brush and then just screened and pasted around. Working on a (very unflattering) self portrait too.

You guys ever find your studies going wrong so you turn them into knights? No? Ah. Just me then.

ugg the eye/brow alignment thing happens to me all the time as well! Maybe drawing lines across the face first will help?

    OH ,oh , oh
I am so proud of your new work.
You surprised me real hard. I was feeling so soft,
but you made me so hard. I was thinking about your
post deeds , your work is so beautiful, I just cannot
get sober enough. I was thinking if we could meet in
the future and to melt our art together . I have some
nice feminine oil paintings hidden behind my drawers.
I know, I am not the sexiest guy, a bit longer hair on
the chest and under the armpits, and I smell a bit
but hell, I still have the sexiest eyes. So, what do
you say, is it a date?

Oh Krysjez, I did do some vague guidlines, I'm still not too good at catching my mistakes fast enough I'll have to keep practicing.

And plissken, oh Plissken. I'm afraid I am too emotionally inept for intimacy. I was born a rare sort that takes more pleasure in sitting around drawing than doing things like having emotions and making kissy faces with people. Man, woman, cat. I am too busy drawing to want relationships. A big dissapointment, I know, but I am sure you will understand.

Here's a 7 minute sketch in apology. I think it has boobs on it, I can't remember. If it doesn't pretend it does.

JailHouseRock: Oh hey, mate! Och, cheers for the kind words! I'm falling behind with my studies though, going to get back into them whilst I have the time. Aha.

Here's what I did in fashion yesterday. Everything was fantastic till the beechams wore off then I was like "urghghg *slosh paint everywhere*"

It's also hilarious how bad I draw shoes and feet. EVEN WITH A PERSON STANDING RIGHT INFRONT OF ME. STILL CAN'T DRAW THEM. STILL.

I really like the fashion pieces. They are loose, but that's the appeal to me.

I'm feeling better, thanks. It's not flu-time for me yet. My back is troubling me instead. I hope you're better as well. If not, get well

Zeich: Eh, bit flu-ey myself, not great but I'm still getting things done. And back troubles, eh? Oh man. They're the worst. And thank you. Miss has been saying I need to loosen up, trouble is I think they all look pretty shit, I suppose it's because I haven't really gotten used to loosening up so nothing looks intentionally loose, you know what I mean? ANyways, cheers!

    Hey
First off, good to see you're still at it and this is great! (edit: oops it's one image, I'm referring to the second one, with the block dude)

    Second, some suggestions.
Making time to do things in a slightly different way, that's different to the way you normally work, knowing you're going to fail.
An example might be if you always worked big to small, filling the canvas with the big shapes and then refining. You might spend some time working outwards from a detail, starting a portrait with the eye and then working out from there. You do it to learn to control it and then you can use bit of it to advance you normal way of working.
sorry if that's a little confusing it comes from listening to some Craig Mullins stuff (Traditional Art Values Applied to Digital Art, don't know if it's still available any where)
Something that might go along with this but I thought was quite interesting on its own is http://markschwartzart.blogspot.com/ learning to see posts (they're at the bottom )

Some of your trouble, like not being able to draw shoes/feet. Apart from time trying, might come down to knowledge of what you are drawing.
But also not forcing yourself to stop and look at whatever you need to see at that point in time, it could be the angle of the line your drawing or it could be the whole shape in relation to the rest of the piece ect.
I've been watching some Ryan Kingslien where he talks about knowing what things are, in the videos he's talking about the skull but I think we can (and Craig Mullins talked a bit about knowing why in that lecture I referred to before) apply this to other things apart from anatomy.

This is the one I started with. It's more general and if you watch one of these it should be this onehttp://vimeo.com/28949284
And this one which is a sample of one of his classes and is less general (you might have to sign up for this one) http://www.zbrushworkshops.com/anato...L6f4qFuA.atdZV

As one last thing, the kinds of things Kingslien is talking about you might think about applying to the other parts of the body like the hips/pelvis, which from that red sketch in #1714 shows there's still a lack of knowledge about that region of the body.

To sum up. I think you're doing great. But I thing you should probably try stepping out of your comfort zone a bit more.

Sorry for the rambling. I hope you can take something from all of that.

Ah, bruce! Just the lad I was hoping for, your posts always are packed full of good advice.

No, you certainly weren't rambling and you've brought across a few interesting points I feel a little silly for not thinking of before.
Making time to do things in a slightly different way, that's different to the way you normally work, knowing you're going to fail.
We've been having to do this a lot in college, but more things like "Draw that woman using only tape" "Paint abstract to Jazz." I must admit I'm repeatedly unenchanted by the results. I suppose all this grappling with different things had made me drop back into my comfort zone with my own time stuff. No excuse by anymeans, but now I realise I'm falling back into bad habits I can tackle it.

What you're saying about feet's a definite too, that and I've been avoiding studying them for months same goes with hips. I'll set about to watching those videos but I hope they have subtitles/captions as my laptop's incapable of playing sound. Been meaning to get it fixed but it also has been a handy way to stop me spending hours on youtube.
Anyways, can't thank you enough for the heads up, mate. I've been sorely missing constructive comments like this. Cheers!

Hi mate I like a lot the colors that you've used in the fashion watercolours, maybe they are a bit shy but maybe is just the photo.
Obviously I agree if you don't know how to draw something draw it again and again until you will get better at it.
It's cool to see different stuff from you

Aye, the fashion illustrations are generally lacking, but for once I'll blame it on my health at the time. Came into college even though I'd been off most the week with flu.

Anyway, here's some prints I've been working on. Shame I buggered the etching (particularly anatomy wise) but I've honestly had fun with it. These prints look poor now, but I'll be working into them. Yeah.

These are just amaaaaazing. I love love the style of them, nvmd the anatomy! I would buy the shit out of those. I especially like the second and fourth; the last version of the ghastly woman, the one with loads of reds looks a bit overdone tho.
