Good morning everyone. I have the habit of waking up at four am during the summer-time so I decided to do a self portrait at like five in the morning after I was done revising xD
I didn't spend any time on the hair since I was more focused on the face (pluss I have crazy morning hair), hope you don't mind.
And I'm back again! (Perhaps I shouldn't be updating so often :s)
But anyways, I'm working on a wee paintin' I did when I was 15. You can see the original in the corner. xD
I think I might have went a bit off on the faces so I'll rework it later...

Ah you're totally right, I definently need to practice faces, 'specialy profiles. xD
Thanks for the help![]()
Boom!
I'm back again and I have two things this time! (Oh joy)
I kind of penned the guy's head before I actually figured out how to fix his face, oops. xD
Annnd face practice!

hats off to you, pal.......... I really admire your dedication...... looking forward for more serious works.......
Dear god, I'm back again!?
Gthm/Death: Thank you very much!
And to everyone else that's seen/commented thanks again because it means allot to a n00bie like me xD
I think I might call it a day art wise because I've been dodging history revision, do you blame me though? ;D
It's nice, though i have to say i like the old one better, it looks so cute and i love the colors you used back then.
the "ulp-girl" on your second skecth is cool, i'd love to see that worked out
Thanks Trutze, Yeah, I think I over did the colouring on the younger one, at first I planned to keep him more simple and pale but I got carried away~
Thought you were rid of me?
Think again.IT'S SPAM TIME!
Oh god, I'm sorry, I had to do it okay? It's my tribute to the ex-PM. I felt an affinity to him due to his habit of eating 9 bananas a day. xD
A little more serious, I was practicing zombies.
Urgh, the serious has quickly dissapaited again xD Uhm, I know the Anatomy on Link is Horrific but I like the horse?
Some doodles between revising last night
And finally;
Animals/creatures I doodled this morning during a revision break. xD
Hello everyone. I had my History exam today annnnd now I'm back I did a little reading up on Mr.Loomis.
What an amazing guy aye?
Did some facial practice, I think I took the photo at an angle so it's more mutated than it should be xD
Deciding to do a wee painting, Here's the sketch so far (apologies for the mark on it, I have a cut on my finger and I was silly enough not to put a plaster on before drawing xD)

I've subscribed to your thread so ill be keeping an eye on your progress

I REALLY LIKE YOUR PENCIL strokes. BUT WHAT I LIKE BEST IS HOW U draw the EYES. Theyre so beautiful and big!!
) no critic so far but it seems like ur avoiding to draw the whole body.. i think .... Bad! I do that to but because of space.. I draw huge. I like ur style keep up the good work

Hi ! Take a peek in my sketch book?My Sketchbook
To Dave: Yes, I definently need to doodle more exciting poses, I think I've been playing it safe for now but after I finish my painting I'm going to do LOADS. And about the sketchbook, You're completely welcome and I'm rather excited about the subscription! you're my first oneAnd I wish I knew how to link my sketchbook in my signature, I'll have to try later :/
To Puffy nose: Many thanks! Since I was 14 I've been trying to draw eyes more interestingly, I used to do them horribly xD and you've caught me red handed! I have been avoiding full body drawings. I need to do more anatomy studies asap, especialy around hips xD
Right! The painting I've been doing is almost finished, just have to neaten it up so see you all![]()
hey there, looks like u enjoy ur doodles as i do. quick tip i have learned. TAKE YOUR SKETCHBOOK EVERYWHERE! draw people and scenary and little imagination sketches if u wish. this is enjoyabe and get's u to be a better artist

hey naidy, really nice watching your progression and i really like the pose of the hand in this last one, keep up the great work!
Woah! I've been getting so many comments today, I can hardly believe it!
To Tom: Ahh, Every time I go to Ireland I do that. I've started bringing the odd sketchbook to school too. You're totally right, it's really fun, especialy since the people I hang around with are always pulling silly faces and doing funny things. xD
To Pookie: Many thanks! I'm flattered. xD Especialy since you have such an awesome sketchbook
Well, since Puffynose noticed I've not put on any full bodied pics I thought I'd practice a bit.
Sorry if it's a wee bit off, I didn't use any refference.
Annnd
Incase you're interested, this is how far I've gotten so far with the painting.
I'm thinking I need to neaten, add more contrast and define the hair more?
I would like to say that all you guys on Concept art are an amazing bunch, since I've been on here I've really been inspired to keep trying.![]()

That painting is coming along really nicely. Are you familiar with Alphonse Mucha? The way you've drawn the hair reminds me of his work.
Pay attention to where your light source is coming from. On the lips, especially, it looks like your light is coming from the bottom and top, which conflicts with the light on the nose/chin. Give this a look: http://gurneyjourney.blogspot.com/search/label/Lighting The fourth post down is probably most relevant but they're all worth a read.
Many thanks Mdbauman, yeah I must admit I didn't pay much attention to light so that tutorial will definently be a help :3
And no, I haven't heard Alphonse, I'll have to look him up.
thanks again~
And I've not come back empty handed, I have a few doodles as well.
Done quickly with a thick felttip, no details, each one took like a minute xD
And
This is just a horrible little colour practice, I'll fix it up, I swear. Next time I'm going to actually do thumbnails of possible landscapes. xD
hey thx for dropping by my SB. I see lot of improvement hereI like the last one alot more than you obdvously do, lovely colors. Take care

Many thanks Brain, I think with a bit of work I might make that colour experiment work. It's just a bit too loose for now, I'll get to work on it tommorow
Had my music exam today, glad that's out of the way.
And here are some things I doodled waiting in the common room:
Two of the hands are observation, then I noticed I must of been looking really glum so I tried to try what I thought I might look like from the front. xD
Earlier in the morning I was doing some more doodles, yes, the guy is Sheik. I was kind of doing this 'pic and mix' characters and scenario thing.
That's all for now ~ I wasn't feeling too arty today.
You have the potential of becoming quite a fine artist, i see a lot talent and imagination here, you only need the time, guidance and a little hard work to harvest those skills, that being said i think one day you will be quite an amazing artist.
To Mike: Thankyou very much! Comments like that brighten up my day- and give me reason to keep on working at it xD. I must say I was just looking through your sketchbook, amazing stuff, truly.
Thanks again and like I've said before, I can't believe how helpful everyone is on here, it really spurs me on.

These are pretty decent. I especially like the painting of the girl. Nice, sensual face. Are you drawing from life? Your faces need a little work, but I'm sure you're perfectly aware of that. Continue to practice and continue to post. Thanks for sharing!
