Good morning everyone. I have the habit of waking up at four am during the summer-time so I decided to do a self portrait at like five in the morning after I was done revising xD



I didn't spend any time on the hair since I was more focused on the face (pluss I have crazy morning hair), hope you don't mind.

And I'm back again! (Perhaps I shouldn't be updating so often :s)

But anyways, I'm working on a wee paintin' I did when I was 15. You can see the original in the corner. xD
I think I might have went a bit off on the faces so I'll rework it later...

hi! welcome on CA! you have to learn face proportions, check out loomis books
for instance, on the profil view, the face is too long and not enough large
keep it up!

Thanks Trutze, Yeah, I think I over did the colouring on the younger one, at first I planned to keep him more simple and pale but I got carried away~

Hello everyone. I had my History exam today annnnd now I'm back I did a little reading up on Mr.Loomis.

Did some facial practice, I think I took the photo at an angle so it's more mutated than it should be xD

I REALLY LIKE YOUR PENCIL strokes. BUT WHAT I LIKE BEST IS HOW U draw the EYES. Theyre so beautiful and big!! ) no critic so far but it seems like ur avoiding to draw the whole body.. i think .... Bad! I do that to but because of space.. I draw huge. I like ur style keep up the good work

To Dave: Yes, I definently need to doodle more exciting poses, I think I've been playing it safe for now but after I finish my painting I'm going to do LOADS. And about the sketchbook, You're completely welcome and I'm rather excited about the subscription! you're my first one And I wish I knew how to link my sketchbook in my signature, I'll have to try later :/

To Puffy nose: Many thanks! Since I was 14 I've been trying to draw eyes more interestingly, I used to do them horribly xD and you've caught me red handed! I have been avoiding full body drawings. I need to do more anatomy studies asap, especialy around hips xD

hey there , looks like u enjoy ur doodles as i do. quick tip i have learned. TAKE YOUR SKETCHBOOK EVERYWHERE! draw people and scenary and little imagination sketches if u wish. this is enjoyabe and get's u to be a better artist

To Tom: Ahh, Every time I go to Ireland I do that. I've started bringing the odd sketchbook to school too. You're totally right, it's really fun, especialy since the people I hang around with are always pulling silly faces and doing funny things. xD

I'm thinking I need to neaten, add more contrast and define the hair more?

I would like to say that all you guys on Concept art are an amazing bunch, since I've been on here I've really been inspired to keep trying.

That painting is coming along really nicely. Are you familiar with Alphonse Mucha? The way you've drawn the hair reminds me of his work.

Pay attention to where your light source is coming from. On the lips, especially, it looks like your light is coming from the bottom and top, which conflicts with the light on the nose/chin. Many thanks Brain, I think with a bit of work I might make that colour experiment work. It's just a bit too loose for now, I'll get to work on it tommorow

Had my music exam today, glad that's out of the way.
And here are some things I doodled waiting in the common room:

Two of the hands are observation, then I noticed I must of been looking really glum so I tried to try what I thought I might look like from the front. xD

Earlier in the morning I was doing some more doodles, yes, the guy is Sheik. I was kind of doing this 'pic and mix' characters and scenario thing.

That's all for now ~ I wasn't feeling too arty today.

You have the potential of becoming quite a fine artist, i see a lot talent and imagination here, you only need the time, guidance and a little hard work to harvest those skills, that being said i think one day you will be quite an amazing artist.

These are pretty decent. I especially like the painting of the girl. Nice, sensual face. Are you drawing from life? Your faces need a little work, but I'm sure you're perfectly aware of that. Continue to practice and continue to post. Thanks for sharing!
