Hello everyone. I've been checking out the CA sketchbook forum for a while now, so I'm excited to finally do one myself. I'm in first year in ECU in animation.

If there is anything you would like to comment and critique on. I will love you for it.

I did some studies by observing myself in the mirror.

Looks like there's a hint of Bridgman influence in there, nice studies!

Thanks, and you are right - I've read bridgeman's books. Though I am not sure if that's a positive or negative thing because he does stylize a tiny bit.

Really good sense of form in your inkbrush studies (posemaniacs?) In fact, you seem to generally have a good ability to simply/elegantly suggest the basic anatomical volumes of the figure without any egregious errors of proportion or symmetry. I'd like to see a lot more, of course.

That last painting is pretty good, in general, but there's something really wrong with the way her finger and that teapot are interacting...I think its like the teapot has no weight...try getting a ref (using your own hand and teapot, of course )

Hey, nice start
Your gestures are nice. I would suggest using some longer lines though. Think about how your eye moves around the form and quickly understands the pose. If you don't get it quite yet, try some blind gestures and try to keep your pencil on the page as long as possible...It's not a pretty site, but will help you develop line fluidity. Gesture drawing will help you in your animation studies as well...you'll here prof. talk about the "line of action" a lot, and having a good understanding of the gesture will help you with this immensely.

I like the latest one...don't know why she has a violin on a giant fork and a teapot though
