Good point sarinn. I only speak hypothetically, I do try and be too understanding sometimes but I've (touch wood) never had a sketchbook stolen so it's hard to put myself in that situation. It all depends on whether he is a good friend gone temporarily stupid or something, but like I said I just wouldn't trust them in the future with anything personal of mine..so I guess that would mean the end of the friendship as they are based on trust.
I got me SKetchbook back today![]()

and it feels good to see it sitting next to me
Noah Bradley can i take him in a fight?
he is bigger than me but size means nothing to me unless
he understands how serious the situation is...
there wont be a need to throw fist...
a sword or anything sharp will serve me well and quick...
The dude still a childish dick about the situation so
am gonna leave it as it is and move on. I can forgive because he doesn't know how serious i am about my artwork to pull a prank on me like that.
And his excuses for all of this, well I am not gonna play this childish game with him,
i got a life to live and it does not involve an ignorant friend

I say you cut out a piece of his soul with that sword and then see how funny he thinks it is when a piece of his soul is missing.
Don't draw steel unless you intend to use it. And you gotta be ready to live with the consequences. Or die by them, depending on the outcome.
Not to sound like a dick or anything, but its just a sketchbook. You'll be filling hundreds of them during your career.. And at the end of the day they aren't that special. At least thats how i see things.. Losing one isn't the end of the world.
That being said.. I wouldn't accept being messed with. If someone crossed my line they would know. But after all it was a prank, and it sounds like you're taking it a little too seriously..
i remember punching someone in the face for taking my book, no one touched it again : ) They are your child.
Hunchback i did the same but not in the face though because he was young,
lesson learned will that day.
He tampered with the drawings...thats a no no
My art is my child
slash I am prepared for the consequences, if it ever happen.
Yeah, i know i will be making hundreds more, but every time i create an artwork, its a part of me.
Losing one i put time and thoughts into...it is the end of the world for me, like hunchback said they are my child.

It's good that you're moving on. Nevertheless, now that you've got your sketchbook back feel free to kill him...on paper.
Check this out:
I had something like this happen, but WORSE!
Sonofabitch ACTUALLY scratched out my name on each draing in the book AND PUT HIS NEXT TO IT?!
Someone came and told me.I wasn't the most emotionally stable of people and ran full blast a pair of lhallway lockers and jumped off them, running full blast down the hall looking for him. I went up to him and his friends, PISSED THE FUCK OFF, and told him he better hand it over.
He did, and NEVER touched my books AGAIN.
So I can feel your rage!

OmenSpirit See now there, that is overkill, I will WOOOOOP his ass for that!!!
Something like that i can't just let him off with a "dont touch my shit again" warning,
am a bust some cap in that ass as a warning!! if his friend wants some too...man bring it on!!
I grew up a serious and somewhat loony kid so i can't help it if the only option i know involves violent behavior
Interceptor hahahaa man i remember the Highlander!! i use to watch that show
Yes i would like to chop people up with a sword...
a gun will not substute for all the 17 years of rage i harness :/
BlackARK i think i would've been in jail since freshmen year of high school if i was still push down the wrong path :/

I hate to piss on the proverbial torches but - seriously?
A sketchbook is only slightly more valuable than the amount of blank pages in it.
If you did it once you can do it again.
Without a doubt I can say that the second best thing that ever happened to one of my sketchbooks was that I cut it in half and submerged it in tea.
Don't take this wrong - it's important to have a body of work in portfolio. But if you get too precious about things, you tend not to evolve enough.

Ok. Assault with a deadly weapon for having a sketchbook stolen.. Someone (that means you.) has issues... You'd want to have those looked at. And don't share stuff like that where future employers and google might find you.
It's just a sketchbook. I know I would be mad at someone for the concept of stealing from me. But if it's a joke and it gets back unhurt, I don't think I could remain upset. As for sticking sharps things into people who steal a sketchbook, noone wants to work with homicidal maniacs who fly off the handle for trivial things. The guy didn't kill your little sister, he took a sketchbook.
Cool down.
If I was an AD and I was reading this thread, I'd be noting your name down to be sure to never hire you. I don't want someone sneaking in my house to stab me because I made you change the hair on the ranger you painted for me last week.
Edit: I guess I'm saying the same as Slash, but using more words... heck, he owns me on the efficiency aspect.
Turning the other cheek will probably benefit you the most in this situation. What you gonna do? Hold a grudge against a friend, fucking up that friendship for good? Just admit that you overreacted, which you cleary did, and then let him know not to joke with you about your artwork or you'll break him.
Might also be worth trying not to treat your artwork like holy manuscript. It's your ability to produce artwork and the development of that skill which is valuable.
Of course i have serious issues everyone
therapy would have helped me long ago,
but now its pretty useless to go to one /:T
Having gone through the experience,
i can understand that i took it waaaaaay tooooo serious, i lost my mind that time.
I admit it, the exact right button will flipped my switch and will cause me to flipped out coo coo
but i always learn from my mistakes.
whats more valuable is my talent and not a book of drawings
..that does sounds nice @_@

i knew i can count on you guys to make me see things the right way again!!
....i love you guyz...
now i just gotta work on getting rid of gangsta habits >.<

i have written an apology note to him,
"Terrell, i have talked to a lot of artist about this situation and they have made me see that i did overreacted to a "coo coo" state. You didn't know what you pulled was 100% completely the wrong button to push and i apologized for being out of hand with the situation. My talent is more valuable than a book of drawings and a book is less valuabe than friend. My balance was disrupted and now, it is restored. Peace."
if he does not accept it, it is fine.
I have seen my mistakes and my mind is now clear of anger.
My way of a the balance soul is need what you need and need less of that need.

I was gonna say I think you're overreacting, but that is a nice apology! "My talent is more valuable than a book of drawings and a book is less valuable than a friend." word
If he wasn't even the person who took your sketchbook, and was just joking about it, that's the sort of thing you have to laugh off. I do stuff like that to my friends all the time, they do it to me too...but we all still love each other.
I don't know what your relationship with your friends is, but while we learn over time which things NOT to do to each other, it's also good to learn how to see react to what is essentially an innocent joke performed pulled by people who would (hopefully) have your back when you really need it. There have a been a lot of times in my life when I have needed a friend more than I've needed art (which is always replaceable through my head and my hands, anyways).
He reply saying he dont accept it lol
i dont care if he is joking with that reply or wanna act tough
but still what a childish dick he still is

Woo....
So he had his sketchbook stolen and it hurt, he himself said he was going to ignore they guy and move on after getting his sketchbook back.
The dude is sharing something with a community to get help from other artist, no need to burn him down. It's not really a big deal that he cherishes his art and drawings.....
If he doesn't accept the apology Oni then screw him he just wants to get you low. It was his mistakes and you over reacted but you've learnt from it now. You know not to over react and you know who your friends are.
And if your art means a lot to you then good on you man, at least you'll have got a lesson out of this. I say you just keep doing what you're doing, ignore him and move on

I've only read the beginning and the end of this. Your sketchbook got stolen. There was some talk of swords. You apologized. Apology not accepted.
At this point stand down and reconsider whether this person is really a friend. He's not worth trouble. Don't talk on the internet about using swords in dealing with people. Too many ears. If you got your sketchbook back, lose this asshole. You'll find a lot of other friends in your life. Life's too short. Things that seem important will no longer be important in the face of a murder-one rap. Trust me on that.
I am not saying you would do it. I am saying that if anyone does it at this point, you will be a suspect because of what you said in this thread. Move on. Fuck all the assholes! You know I care from way back, Oni Rem. Tryin' ta help!
