Life, Death, Art, Pixels, and Berlin

So much happens so fast, these updates become small bookmarks of the passing time, I'm overdue to share some new work,

as artists we are very fortunate to live in a time with so many creative opportunities to explore,

Markos SixMoreVodka Made workshop is right around the corner, there are less than 100 spots left so if you are on the fence i would secure your position today, this will be a one of a kind event. Marko will be building off the conceptart model with his German precision, you will not want to miss out on the "BMW" of art workshops.

and if Berlin is too far to travel TAD still had over 1.5 million dollars of scholarships to give away, imagine how many pencils that 1.5 million dollars can buy,

on my end i have several events I'm participating in and you can check out my facebook page to keep abreast of the ongoing activities.
    facebook

    now onto the art.

i recently had a close friend of mine make a deliberate decision to end her journey here on earth, words fail me to try and explain all of the emotions that it created , If anyone had seen the fine art volume one DVD you can see the first time that i made a portrait of Breanna,
here is the last portrait i will draw of her. she ended her life with a dramatic final statement and i wanted this portrait to reflect that.

on a different note, this was created for my friends at leewiart for their "share one planet" competition , http://www.shareoneplanet.org/en/index.aspx

this was the poster that they sent out for their call to entries, each animal in the headdress represents the top endangered animals in china,
we are currently working an creating a sculpted 3d bust of this image

here is the live painting i created at the Austin "Visions" event . the first print will be auctioned off for Daarkens beautiful grim fundraiser,
    Beautiful Grim
the prints is an 18x24 wet mounted watercolor giclee with acrylic hand embellishments.

and for anyone that's planning their summer adventures i would like to you invite you to the BOOM FESTIVAL in Portugal.

This year boom has enlisted me to create their main stage experience, here are a few initial concepts i created. if you ever had the desire to dance inside one of my paintings here is your chance. the Boom happens every two years in Lisbon Portugal and the dance floor will have over 15,000-20,000 people at any given time.

the dj booth will be at light and sound activated glowing stellated dodecahedron,

i have teamed up with audiopixel to have the structure dynamically driven by the music, here is a quick movie of how it will look in action

a few weeks ago i had the pleasure of setting up a booth at the NASA Andrews Airforce base for Yuris night , with the help pf Wacom we were able to expose the wonders of digital art and technology to over 1000 young inner city elementary students,

you can see a gallery of the photos HERE

that's it for now , thanks for looking.

Sorry to hear about your friend... its a really moving piece.

The Boom Festival looks exciting and a great layout. Must be surreal to bring to life a full 3d dance/art/festival immersion.

Om Swastyastu! One of the profound effects of reaching the level of solidity and understanding you have with your art (as do many professionals) is the ability to approach pro bono work with as much gusto and dedication as a professional piece. It is great to see you doing so much community and interpersonal work - it is a far cry from many who feel trapped in their work, and sets a good example for those who have the inner fire flickering quietly under a layer of illusory 'obstacles' like time and money!

Meanwhile here in Bali, the ripples of your influence are still felt... have crossed paths with many who know you, are inspired by you, or have just heard of you in passing. In fact, I had your AYA painting open and a passerby caught its eye, and that introduction led to a connection to the local community that has sustained me the last 5 months and has also led to connections to burning man, many other artists, and hanging out with alex grey! Your karmic presence is indeed strong here!

I heard rumours you were in town at some point? Although i dont know if they were unfounded Anyhow your work is looking, as ever, marvellous. You walk the line between visionary art and popular art with applomb, and that is a skill I think many would do well to emulate!

Congratulations on your ongoing hard work

Great work as always. Both the portrait of your friend and the "share our planet" portrait are very powerful, for very different reasons. I love to see such inspired work from you.

Greetings Man, I am sorry for your loss and I am also grateful that you have made such a powerful evocative image of her. She may be gone but this image of her will create an immortality that will outlast all of us. A sad, grim and wonderful work. My thoughts are with you.

Amazing work as always, and if it's not too much to meddle, I have a couple of questions slightly related to the BOOM festival. Will you accompany any act on-stage?
And on a lesser note, assuming you do visit Portugal, do you have any expos or such planned for our country, maybe even in later dates?

I've always been a tremendous fan of yours, and I'd love to contact with your work personally.
