    Talking My New sketch book!

Hey, my name is Isaac, a friend told me about this website, so id thought id check it out, and so far I love it. A little about me im a art major in school, i draw alot, but lately been slackin off, my new goal is to draw everyday, like i did in high school. I feel like my art work has gotten to a point where it has plateaued probably from not drawing as much as I used to. I want to get over this hump and keep getting better. I plan to draw everyday and hopefully post stuff here everyday. I plan to post a lot of studies and class work here, as well as other random doodles. I would love a lot of constructive criticism. Thank you for your time and enjoy.

P.S. sorry for the camera quality I am saving up for a scanner, ill maybe have one in a month or so.

sorry if that offends anyone, i was just being silly.

just some quick hand studies about 10 min.

    Talking New studies

Hey It's been a while, but i have some new updates and i finally have a new scanner, I plan to draw every day and update on saturdays or sundays, so be on the look out. So be on the look out! Thank you for all your constructive criticism.

My goal is to try and get a better understanding of anatomy, and hands, and basically become a better artist in general. There are some Loomis studies in here.

i like your style, there so much feelings in it, we see you have lot of fun doing this, i dunno why.
Never give up, keep on drawing and you'll improve very fast.
first check out face proportions, in the flash running in side view, the skull must be much longer
    keep it up!

Talking Been a long time, but im back.

It's Been a long time since i posted anything here, but im back now and more committed then ever, my goal is to draw everyday and post here every sunday or monday with my weekly sketches, Im trying to focus on anatomy, hands faces, and a whole bunch of other stuff, basically im trying to get better at the stuff im not good at. One thing im doing to help push me to draw every day is to draw a different superhero everyday, i have this Marvel encyclopedia and im slowly working my way through it starting in the A's. These pics were darkened in photoshop. All comments and crits are wanted and appreciated, thanks for taking time out to look at my sketch book. Thanks!

Pay attention to proportions. Some math in the wouldn't hurt. Take the ruler or something like that, and measure references, anatomy examples etc. And keep practicing as much as you can. Wish you luck.

Yo! Thanks for stopping by my sb. It's good to see you doing so many studies but I would say the best way to get 'life' into your drawings is gestures. Lots and lots an lots of 5 minute/1 minute/30 second gesture drawings. See how fast you can start whipping those things out! Once you have a good feel on that go outside and draw the people around you, college campuses are the best for that. The faster you can draw the faster you can catch a person´s character and pose before they move.
Posemaniacs.com has a great tool for gestures. And if you're interested in animals there's another good website but I don't have the link bookmarked right now. When I find it I'll be sure to send it here.

Just keep drawing everyday like you said you wanted to and you'll improve A LOT. And not just people, draw the things around you like trees, buildings, birds, whatever. Have fun with it.

    Hope I helped!

    You're making a good start.
    As for foreshortening, google it.
I'm terrible at it myself, but I suppose it's easier if you think of things in their basic shapes which overlap eachother and what not...

Anyways, just keep practicing, good luck!

Hey man, I'd like to see more and more of your sketches. Your style and skill level looks very promising and I can see a jump in proficiency between the first drawing and the latest drawing. I think Dana T has a very good advice about doing lots of gesture drawings. I think it is something that will help you significantly. I need to do more of them, too...Hey, if you have trouble motivating yourself how about heading over to the main Community Activities page? There's a weekly Spartan Camp activity where you aim to produce 50 gesture drawings and an optional study. I just discovered it myself and I think doing that as a community gives me a push that I need...I think it might work for you too!
